Maternity party dress & colour help please

I've decided to 'splash' out on a nice maternity dress as I have several occasions coming up I need a nice dress for:

DD's birthday - day
DP's birthday - dinner
Xmas party x 2 - evening
Work Xmas lunch in posh hotel - afternoon into evening

But I'm dithering over the colour. I'd usually go for black or red, but black isn't very festive and I already have a similar short sleeved maternity dress in red (I can wear long sleeve top under for winter). I've done purple to death the last few years.

So I'm thinking LAGOON - the lighter blue shade as blue looks good on me (though it's not a colour I wear much of). But is it a winter colour? Suitable for parties? Forst Green is also quite nice.

So I need some help please - what is the best choice for winter party colours? Or would you just give up on colour & go for black?

And how would you dress this dress up for posh hotel 'do'??

I think the green looks a bit sludgy TBH - what's your colouring? I would probably also go for the Lagoon shade as a bit of a change from black (all my maternity clothes seem to be black) and red (bit too Christmassy sometimes)

My 'best' maternity dress is burgundy and I try to dress it up with spangly heels (I have some vintage white stilettos which are ace but strictly 'car to bar' IYSWIM) and I also wore a big flower corsage with it for a wedding this summer. Or splash out on a really nice clutch bag?

it's gorgeous, and the colour is great, striking enough to be dressed up, definitely.

yes I though the green a bit sludgy too - I like it but not for evenings. Would wear that color during the day though, but not for Xmas lunch.

I'm fair, dark blonde hair, blue eyes, 5.8", size 18, busty - I always get comments in blue, and enjoy wearing it, though I'm never drawn to it if that makes sense???
