Hi, I have a big night out in few weeks. I haven't really been out anywhere where I'd had to dress up for yonks plus having put on 2 stone means i have lost my way and no longer know what suits me.
Iam size 18 with a reasonably nice bust (been told best feature) but have big post baby tummy and whilst this gives me apple shape I sadly do not have the legs normally associated with an apple. Infact they are awful :( large thighs and calves with cankles (not pretty)
Basically what style trouser, top and show should I wear and suggestions for these would be much appreciated.
I'd quite like to get a fairly decent apir of dress trousers but not sure whre should go for these.
I tried empireline top recently as this use to look good but now just makes me look pregnant.
Thanks.

Get some big spanx or equivalent pant before you try anything else on :) good ones make a huge difference to mummy tummies. Empire line migh still look good - Tunic/dress shape with kleggings can also be really good for your shape

Thanks what make of spanx should I look for. I have hugely fat legs esp calves so doubt leggings but like idea of tunic top. Would trousers work with that.

Most makes work reasonably - Spanx themselves can be expensive but are good - M&S do shorts types that go to the knee worth a look on the web - very comfortable and you will wear and wear them

Leggings can be ok on bigger legs especially with a tunic - but only if you calves are smooth big if you know what I mean. wobbly big not so good - trousers are better - boots cut are the 'ideal' for balancing your shape, but can look a bit dated - skinnies are cool with heels and a tunic.

If you have a good bust a cross over top/tunic can be very flattering - depending on how it ties across your tummy
