I'm a good 14 and was hoping a jumpsuit might be smart enough for DS's Christening on boxing day has anyone seen a nice one or is it a complete no no ?
TIA

a dress or pretty skirt more suitable for church, non?

budget, colours, we'll have a look for you

Some people can look good in a jumpsuit at 35+. I would say they are generally tall and size 10ish or smaller. Size 14 not big, but smart trousers, skirt if lovely dress more flattering and appropriate IMHO. You will probably get more wear on the long run from a great dress.

mamatomany · 31/10/2010 22:15

I am 35 now.
Erm colours I don't know, I need to revisit my book and remind myself, I think I'm a summer ????
Budget well, if I can also wear the outfit to a university interview then I don't mind up to £250
But for the last three Christenings I have looked awful, I mean dressed in country casuals when I was 26, not sure wtf i was thinking so I don't want another disaster.
I'd be very grateful I usually look shit, just once I'd like to get it right in the family album :)

Oh and I am 5'10 so height might help with some outfits and hopefully I'll be a generous 12 by Christmas (she says eating another hob nob).

It's not about the rear end, it's about the jumpsuit...

Sidge · 31/10/2010 22:21

Is it 1976?

Sorry, IMO no-one looks good in a jumpsuit.

Hullygully · 31/10/2010 22:22

Can you just tell me why? Why, why on earth are you drawn towards such a hideous abomination?

mamatomany · 31/10/2010 22:30

Ha ha I just thought it looked good on the model Blush

Listen, not being funny but check out Laura Ashley. I love the vivid colours of this and want someone to buy it!!!!

although they might be winter colours ...

PS I am not a hater. I have a jumpsuit. Harem style, bandeau. Love it. But not for church Smile

Phase Eight is 'having a moment'....

So, dresses that could possibly do a christening and an interview...?

Now, I don't know what colours and shapes suit you, so have a look at these and let me know what you think!

Berta...I know, the names are rubbish!

silk

another simple one

TBH, for your budget you might be able to get two - one a bit more flamboyant for the chrsitening, and one more elegant/businessy for interview. All the dresses are here and there is a code at the moment - GRAZIA11 (I think) that gives you 25% off.

mamatomany · 01/11/2010 23:59

I've tried to like Phase 8 (I like the 25% off bit) but nothing takes my fancy i'm afraid.
LTEC - the bunch of heathens i'll be inviting along a jumpsuit will be the least of their worries, it's not really a formal church (it's in quite a rough area where I think they are just delighted if you haven't got a tracksuit on).

You can't wear a jumpsuit to an interview though! (Well you can, but people might be a bit Hmm)

Warehouse also got some nice dresses in:

I wasn't planning to wear a jumpsuit to an interview, we were discussing dresses and outfits by that point.
Thanks for the links.
