Where to get the best Breton tops?

Hi there,

Quite simple really- wanted to find a perfect stripy, top- Breton design (ie nothing figure hugging).
Have seen some on Boden which look okay and Gap always has stripy tops but not quite the design I am after atm.
Can you suggest anything else?

May even brach out and get a stripy dress too!

Have you looked at the Boden spring preview?
They have some nice breton tops that don't look too fitted and also a nice stripy tunic... you won't get them until January though!

Lands End have one, it is really nice, loose fitting and heavy weight. I had one until I accidentally dyed in pink in the wash - sniff.

Gap have lots of different ones and a 3 for 2 offer on them atm. They also have others in the sale. I got four on Saturday .

I have the current Boden one in navy and ketchup, but my favourite is from Jigsaw, they have blue and white, navy and white and dark grey and white. Sorry can't link but at www.Jigsaw-online.com under 'tops'. Oh I also have a nice black and white one from Whistles.

Echoing bloss I have the Boden one but in navy/cream. It's quite nice but fairly scooped. I am wearing a Jigsaw one today which is a nicer fit and slightly slinkier fabric - I was just thinking today I should order another as this is my favourite.

I have just ordered a navy/cream Whistles one in the sale from ASOS as they sent me a freebie £10 to spend. Actually think that was a vest.

Toast have gorgeous ones, and tunics, in a lovely heavy fabric that looks great on. A friend of mine was wearing hers today and I was feeling most jealous!

I have the Boden Hamptons top, which I think is the one Blos and Happily refer to. The stripes are Breton ish, but it is scoop neck and clingy - not very Bretony style.

there isnt enough lycra in the boden one to sotp it geting baggy

I looked at the Jigsaw one the other day and it's lovely but the neck was too high for me.

Gap t-shirt quality is appalling, nowadays.

I got two GAP ones last year (Spring) and they're already fit for the bin (I've learnt to look for at least some form of elastane/lycra labels to stop bagginess).

A/W Boden ones are nice quality and might get the spring preview ones to replace the GAP ones.

The Jigsaw one looks nice. Have never heard of armorlux.

H&M has some good ones in the at the moment -I have this one here in navy and white but it also comes in other colour ways including a nice grey with white stripe. The length is nice and long and good quality material. Nice buttons on the shoulder and cuffs too.

Agree re: GAP tops. Have put 2 plain ones in the bin and have kept a stripe one that I bought a few months ago but it is only fit for layering under stuff

zara have some but maybe too like Gap for you

Hi ollie- am slightly confused by the links as they don't go to one top.
On the second link, there are some at the end of pg3 and one at the start of pg 4 which look nice.
On the first link there are about 100 tops. Can you give me the pg number of the one you have please?

OOps sorry sleepyhead3 - didnt check links after I had posted! Its on page 6 of the Tops, on the bottom row, second from the left. Shows it as grey and red but once you click on it, the other colours are shown - but sure the navy and grey ones are still in store just not on wesbite. The other one with the scoped neck is on the same page and there is another one on Page7. Hope that helps.

I have this one, it has a nice weight to it and isn't figure hugging. I have far too many quite a few stripy tops and this is my favourite at the moment.
