Wise ladies of S&B - I've bought this dress for a winter wedding in Dublin and now think it may be a bit well..safe and boring? Any ideas how I can dress it up or any other suggestions??

Have a wedding in Dublin. (Church wedding then hotel and swing band in the evening).

Went to Phase Eight yesterday and they had 25% off, don't get much time off to go shopping and try things so had a panic and bought these-

vera dress
shoes
scarf

Now thinking may be too matchy matchy and not v exciting?

Love the dress, really nice but I would prob go for a different colour shoe and maybe a chunky bead necklace

traceybath · 31/10/2010 10:55

Yeap - dress is lovely - and adore the name Wink

But would get different shoes and perhaps a dramatic cuff and nice clutch bag.

NannyPatsSausagePlait · 31/10/2010 10:58

Yes it is a little samey

I would go for a textured jacket (fur)and probably silver heels. But thats just because I adore silver shoes

incognita · 31/10/2010 11:04

Thanks yes was thinking the shoes may be too much blue! What colour show would you go for? Will look for a chunky necklace. Need to find a coat/long cardigan for the church I think.

BelligerentGhoul · 31/10/2010 11:20

Would go for pewter/ dull silver shoes rather than bright silver - think the ones incognita linked were the sort of colour I mean.

incognita · 31/10/2010 12:33

Q like this pewter cuff

deep red patent shoes, red bag and a big red rose as your corsage.

Nice chunky red necklace or chandalier earrings.

bunnymother · 31/10/2010 13:20

Yes, also think dress is lovely and that Ava peep toes are v good option. Esp if going for grey fur wrap. Love that '50s glam look. Deep red lipstick would be perfect, w min eye make up.

BigTeuchLittleTeuch · 31/10/2010 13:42

I would advise that you take your dress to try on silver/pewter shoes...

That is what I had planned to wear to a wedding recently and it just looked a bit meh.

It really should have worked, but it didn't.

incognita · 31/10/2010 14:36

Good thinking BigTeuchLittleTeuch. bunnymother, that's a look I love, think will go well for this wedding as bride and bridesmaids v glam!
