New complete wardrobe - what essentials would you recommend?

I'm wanting to start my wardrobe again from scratch, starting with the essentials every woman should have. What would you recommend? I'm 28 and a generous size 12. And I mean EVERYTHING - different styles of jeans, tops, trousers the lot!!

Looking forward to hearing your advice xx

Watching with interest ... despite being the wrong side of 40!

Uniqlo is a good website or shop as they have lots of basics in a range of colours e.g. vneck jumpers, jeans, t-shirts, shirts, jackets. I really like their stuff and it is good quality and quite reasonable. I love the heattech scoop neck tops!

I'd recommend a session (free) with a personal stylist at a department store. They'll have you trying things you wouldn't normally try which mostly actually work but without any obligation to buy. Several Mums in the playground have been and you can really see the difference. They now have a core wardrobe which mixes and matches and is really flattering in cut and colour. I'm saving up for it!

Tell us a bit about you. Do you work? If so in a professional environment that requires you to be smart or a more casual environment? Do you go clubing, prefer quiz nights or quiet restaurants? Do you do the school run and lots of outdoor activities? Are you city or country based?

Whats your body shape (pear, straight up and down, hourglass etc) and height (petite, average, tall)
