It's always been poop hasn't it?
Never had a helpful assistant yet. They are quite snobby at times. It's only m&s not harrods!

Had similar with asos - and when I pointed out it wasn't my fault and item was now out of stock. Well they didn't seem to care very much and I reeaaallllly wanted that leather skirt.

Which boots though? Have you phoned and seen if they've got any in store?

traceybath · 30/10/2010 18:14

I did see a nice dress in there yesterday though in the [whispers] portfolio section. Bit hard to judge though as smallest size out was a 22.

Do they hide all the smaller sizes in the stock room or something?

overmydeadbody · 30/10/2010 18:48

This is not just any customer service.

This is M&S customer service.

FolornHope · 30/10/2010 19:16

Lol. They were ankle boots in led Coll. Heel tiny bit off sheepskin that folded over. Are not even on site now. Were lovely

There are some nice bits in there at the moment though. But it is still one of the most soul-destroying places to browse through, and both times I have shopped online they have screwed up my order.
Don't even get me started on the layout of the shopfloor...

traceybath · 30/10/2010 19:20

Oh yes were in all the mags.

FolornHope · 30/10/2010 19:21

Once again, my order to collect instore included a knitted tea cosy hatConfused. They are determined that I have it!

I always check the package before I leave the store now.

I've always had a good shopping experience with M and S, whether buying online for home delivery or in store.

Never got my order wrong, staff in store have always been helpful, store layout where I shop is good (Cheshire)

So far anyway...

domesticsluttery · 01/11/2010 08:57

I had terrible trouble with M&S a couple of weeks ago when a pair of DS2's school shoes fell apart after 3 weeks wear. They couldn't understand that it wasn't convenient to pop them back to my nearest store as my nearest store is a 3hr round trip. Surely it isn't my fault that they haven't opened any stores nearer to me?

Then last week I followed the instructions on the back of my delivery note to cancel the contract for an unwanted item under the distance selling regulations (this way the delivery charge is refunded too) and the woman I spoke to didn't know what the distance selling regulations actually were.

In their defence, buth times I phoned back again 5 minutes later and spoke to someone else, and both times the second person that I spoke to was more helpful. So perhaps only 50% of their customer service staff are useless?

I have never had any trouble in store, the problem is that I don't get to a store very often and so have to rely on buying online and waiting a week to get it (if it hasn't gone out of stock in the meantime).

gorehaginhellsbum · 01/11/2010 19:20

I've just placed an order fo something that now has 1 item left in stock.
Chances of me getting it are probably zero!
