baby due dec 10th - don't want to look dreadful at Christmas

Hello

Dc2 due on Dec 10th - very exciting!

In the back of my mind though is not wanting to look a disgrace over Christmas - any ideas for a couple of things I could buy now that would be comfortable, hide a very flabby tummy but not be pjs? Most of my maternity stuff is tight (to show I'm pregnant not fat) but will be along way away from pre pregnancy clothes

In real life am 5 2 size 12, with short legs, though would expect to be closer to size 16 for xmas.

I know its hardly the time to be vain, but also think I'll enjoy it more if I'm not too mortified to answer the door!

Thanks in advance for any tips.

xx

Get your hair done and make sure you've got nice make up and some sparkly jewellery / scarves. I'd stick to a forgiving tunic tops and some slim fitting trousers/jeans with stretchy waistband, in a dark colour. Then dress up with accessories.

BUT...

DO NOT put pressure on yourself to look like a model 1 fortnight after giving birth!

Faaamily puts it so well

Make sure you have dry shampoo for the mornings you just don't have time to wash your hair :)

Agree with faaamily.

The most flattering thing I wore post pregnancy was a stretch black skirt with tights and a very forgiving black top. And comfy heels!

I looked and felt 100x better when I had the opportunity to wash and blow dry my hair and do my makeup properly (whilst my DH minded the baby for an hour).

I was due on Dec 10th and DD arrived on 20th after long labour and forceps. But I looked fine on Christmas day. Got a lovely tunic and leggings from topshop and wore half the mac counter! Also treated myself to nice jersey type pjs/ loungewear from Debemhams so I looked vaguely decent for visitors dropping stuff in. To be honest though I didn't give a toss when it was all going on just beforehand. Good luck!

Book a hair appt as close to 10th as you dare.
Get a jersey tunic and leggings OR Jersey dress and opaques - both can be worn with a long boyfriend style cardigan.
Keep make up simple - a touch of mascara, blusher and lip gloss
Good luck
