Help me choose snow boots, please

I'm torn between these North face and these hi tec. ILs live in rural highlands, so serious snow when we visit there, plus a fair amount at home, plus ice. Want warm, waterproof and grippy. What do you think?

Should have said I like the tan/camel colour in each.

I think the hi tec are a more sensible choice, but the North Face ones look nicer. Might be hard to get them to go over all trousers as well.

mooma, you are voicing my inner dilemma... Think the NF might be more adjustable with lacing. HT ones are shorter, I think.

I would go for the North Face boots. I have a pair very similar to the Hi-Tec ones and they aren't completely waterproof even though they are supposed to be. I also have a pair of North Face walking boots and they are waterproof and I much prefer them.

Really, dexter? Hmm. that would be a better argument than "I like them more", I suppose. And it would be a false economy to buy cheaper boots that didn't do the job...
