Black Opaque Tights - what shoes?

Hi, I have a lovely deep purple/maroon dress which I would love to wear with thick black tights. What shoes though???? It is for my works xmas party - lunch in posh London restuarant. Heels or flats - what style?

I would always go heels if it's an event and would probably stick to black heels with that colour combo. Do you have a link to the dress?

I think a heeled black suede shoeboot would love lovely with opaques/coloured dress
