clarks used to do it but don't know if it's only their own boots

I used to work for Jones Bootmakers. The london stores used an expensive but excellent repairers/cobblers called "Kokos" based in Finchley. Might be worth popping into a branch and asking for them to be sent away for a (no obligation) quote.

With Timpsons I think quality depends on the branch & can be hit & miss. kokos are in a different league IMO.

Got a Jones near me though i bought my boots in Scotland!!

Jones would use a Scottish repairer in that case. The shop may be able to phone for a quote or the repairers may want to see the boots first.
