Where can I get skincare advice

My skin is a mess and I don't know what to use on it. It is very dry but I get spots around my chin. I have tried the ocm but still had really dry skin with it. Dh bought me some clarins stuff which is nice but I think it is irritating my skin. I would love to get some proper advice from someone but not sure where I could get it from.

Get a skin consultation from clarins. They have a 100% returns policy on allergies and without seeing or feeling your skin its really hard to prescribe you the right products. They have really fixed my skin xx

If your skin is really bad, a consultation with a dermatologist (one who is interested in facial skin and beauty - this will be a woman!) will cost you £150 or so but should set you up for years.

Definitely see a dermatologist if you can afford it. Do not go to a beauty counter, most have very little training in skin conditions and will just try to sell you their crap. If you can't afford a derm, have a look online, there are a lot of skincare support forums and sites around. I found the makeupalley skincare board www.makeupalley.com/board/board.asp?bid=6 and acne.org www.acne.org/ very interesting when my skin was particularly bad.

I have skin similar to how yours sounds, dry but the spots, the OCM has sorted it out. Did you do it with castor oil? If so, try it again without the castor oil. Otherwise agree with others, dont go to a beauty counter. They are only there to sell their products.

I used castor oil and olive oil. I was wondering about trying some different natural oils. I wouldn't say it is really, really bad I just can't seem to settle it or find something that doesn't leave me with patches of dry skin everywhere.

that could be my skin that you are describing. I went to a medi spa, they are very clearly trying to sell you something but they said that i should look into IPL, a pulsed light that will apparantly zap your spots whilst boosting your collagen. It sounded really amazing but maybe its better to see a dermatologist who would be impartial. Does anyone have any recommendations of one?

Try the OCM again, but just with EVOO. Mine can;t tolerate the castor oil, but is fine with olive oil.

I will give that a go, I like how cheap it is!
