Or is that a total No-No?

Please help, Style Gurus!

if Net-a-porter says that grey and brown is okay then it's probably okay Grin

I prefer grey and black though, personally.

BelligerentGhoul · 27/10/2010 22:05

I am by no means a style guru but I love grey and brown together.

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:05

Shock at the heels! And my coat did not cost 3 grand!

Yes of course

LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:08

oh.. well if your coat didn't cost 3 grand it's probably cheap and nasty and won't go with anything. Can you save up?

LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:09

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:10

Oh bugger.

Maybe I will just leave it in the wardrobe and go out shivering again...

dexter73 · 27/10/2010 22:11

Lol at LTEC!![hgrin]

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 27/10/2010 22:15

I wear gray coar with brown boots. Looks great.

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:15

Er, how grey is grey? Narrow knee-length fitted grey wool with cream fur collar

Mid-brown flat non-shiny boots (don't do heels).

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:16

do you think it looks good?

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 27/10/2010 22:17

My combo is similar colours to the Net a Porter link.

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:17

Haven't tried it yet! Coat is still in cupboard!

Wore jeans and wellies today. Blush

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:18

well, it's got to be better than jeans and wellies. Wear it, stay warm and enjoy Smile

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:21

Next question:

What underneath?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:23

knickers would be good.

where are we talking?? walking the dog? work? school run? supermarche?

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:25

Ok, have pants, not knickers!

I'm going to a Coffee Morning, don't want to look like the sad old SN mum who never has time to clean her fingernails let along coordinate her outfits!

have you any kind of navy and white ensemble you could wear? stripe top, for eg?

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:49

Why? Hmm

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:50

because it would go with grey and brown you plank!!!!

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 22:52

Oh blardy hell, I'm way outta my depth here!

No, no stripes available in my "ensembles" !

LetThemEatCake · 27/10/2010 22:58

Okay. I am trying to help, despite my poncetastic flingo. When is said coffee morning? have you got time to go to Gap and get one of their merino jumper dresses in charcoal? here

and tights like these in purple - I mean, LOL at the pic, but you get my drift

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 27/10/2010 23:06

Jeans are always good. Smart ones, not boyfriend baggies.

What about tops? What do you have?

I wear a lot of tshirts with jumpers - budget doesn't stretch to cashmere so bought lots of jumpers from M&S, thin and soft woollens.

meltedmarsbars · 27/10/2010 23:09

I really did snort into the keyboard when I read "have you got time to go to Gap..."

Nope, no time, coffee morning is tomorrow at 10.

Don't worry, I could always wear jeans (again) Grin That dress is TOO SHORT for me!
That second model is not even wearing a skirt!!!

Will have arummag tomorrow. Shame nut my wardrobe is in dd2's room, she's a light sleeper so can't do anything now.

Tnx for your advice,

Night night!
