Well I've recently discovered Boden...and I think I might like it. I've bought these three tunics in purple, berry and blue respectively:

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tunics/WL574/Womens-Fun-loving-Tunic.html

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tunics/WA285/Womens-Copenhagen-Tunic.html

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Tunics/WL573/Womens-Empire-Line-Tunic.html

and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on what to team them up with for winter? In the past I would have worn them with black tights/leggings and pumps but to my horror I read on here that black cheapens colour! So what to do? I could buy some tights in the shade of the dresses...but would I look like I was dressing up as my one year old daughter? What about tights/leggings in a charcoal/grey colour? And what about shoes?! I've thought about getting some boots for Winter...does the black rule apply to boots too? What do you think of the idea of grey day boots?

Please help! I really love these dresses but I have well and truly lost my fashion sense/identity since turning 30 and having a baby!

PS any ideas for cardigans to go with would also be great ;)

M&S do lovely merino wool tights and they come in charcoal and navy amongst other colours. I have both colours and they are great with tunics and dresses. I also got some charcoal leggings in M&S and I think I do prefer them to my regular black ones. You could also wear dark rinse skinny jeans under the shorter tunics.

Have you considered tan boots? I recently invested in a riding style boot. Tan is very vesatile and can be worn with black, grey, navy purple etc...

In terms of cardigans, I think longer style ones look good over tunics. I have the Boden boyfriend cardigan in charcoal which was a good buy... You can get these style cardigans in lots of places.

Hope that gives some ideas

Damn my first two attempts at links went embarrassingly wrong! Third post works. Thanks again

Thanks Meggles, that gives me some great ideas! Will check out M&S definitely. I hadn't considered Navy, great shout. Hadn't considered tan either...its not something I would have considered wearing with anything other than brown/cream...showing how completely unadventurous I've been in the past!

Navy, charcoal leggings, skinny jeans would all look good.Tan goes with everything, remember, matchy matchy is OUT! Unless you are VB...

Am wondering what the purple one does to be so fun loving

Meggles76 · 27/10/2010 15:07

Mollysmum - what is the berry tunic like? Is the neck line very low? I am quite tempted by it!

mollysmum82 · 27/10/2010 15:28

Hi Meggles, its gorgeous! Not too low at all (I sent the cashmere jumper and beaded floaty top back for being too low as I hate anything that's bra-showing!) I bought both pairs of merino wool tights! And I'm going to investigate some tan boots. Thanks so much again.

Thanks for the advice woopsidaisy, I've ordered some charcoal leggings from Next too so fingers crossed! Just shoes/boots and cardigans to sort now!

I might give it a go then Smile
You are going to look fab in all your new clobber!

FakePlasticTrees · 27/10/2010 16:21

I have ordered the berry tunic, and am planning on wearing it with dark blue leggings, or thick grey/blue knitted tights I've got (if it's not too short on me and I'm feeling brave, I am rather short though, so will look less obsence on my non-exisitant legs than it would on a non-borrower figure).

I also saw these flats, but not sure if they'll look stupid on, will need to pop in and try them...

mollysmum82 · 27/10/2010 19:07

Aw thanks Meggles! You too! :)

They're nice fakeplastictrees, I saw some nice aubergine ones from Boden too
