Have found flattering black straightleg/skinny trousers

Yesterday I tried on almost every pair of black straight leg trousers I could find in town as I've been searching for ages. I'm a 16/14 with something of a tummy and a bit of a bottom, so I find trousers difficult. To be big enough to fit over my rounded middle they're often baggy around the waist, which means I have to use a belt. It means I end up with an 80's sinched baggy look around the tummy area, fine most of the time as I'm fond of long tunic/dress type tops so it's covered, but I would like to not be restricted to this look all the time.

Anyway Uniqlo heat tech trousers are it - they are a fairly high rise, so the waist is about level with my tummy button. All lovely and sucked in - no muffin top, I repeat no muffin top! The fabric is somewhere between a heavy jersey and regular trouser fabric with lots of stretch. Fit is somewhere between skinny and straightleg - I love the Boden straightleg jeans and it's very similar.

Had to share.

I love the lookmof those, but the heat tech fabric sounds just weird Confused.

ooh may try those am looking for new work trousers, do they come up big or small?

Rindercella · 27/10/2010 11:31

What sort of length are they? Look exactly what I'm after, but need am a 33/34" inside leg.

1234ThumbScrew · 27/10/2010 11:49

I'd say the sizing is about right, neither too big or too small. They are quite long in the leg I'm 5'7" and need to take them up by about 5/6cm - in fact must do it before I ruin them.

Thank you, have just ordered a pair. Also found that the inside leg is 85cm, which I think is 34", so fabulous!

deaconblue · 27/10/2010 13:24

they look exactly what I'm looking for but surprise surprsie no 14's grrrr

LaCerbiatta · 27/10/2010 13:27

Do the black ones look like jeans?

1234ThumbScrew · 27/10/2010 15:54

rindercella - can you let us know what the fit is like. I am also long of leg Smile

Rindercella · 27/10/2010 20:34

Of course Smile

ladylush · 27/10/2010 20:52

Thanks Smile

ladylush · 27/10/2010 20:53

Interesting that a japanese company makes trousers so long of leg

Rindercella · 28/10/2010 15:55

Feedback on the trousers, which arrived today.

Sorry! I am so disappointed, they are just too small. Perhaps I am just not cut out for skinnies. Although I have to concede that the length was quite good. Sigh, another parcel to send back.

1234ThumbScrew · 28/10/2010 15:59

Sad wow they arrived quickly! Sorry they don't work for you, I'm still in love with mine.

TracyK · 28/10/2010 15:59

hmm - they don't look that high a rise in the picture - I usually go by the length of the zip.

No 16's in the black anyhoo - so none for me!

Rindercella · 28/10/2010 16:03

Ahh, don't be sad ThrubScrew. [hsmile]
