Just wondered if any of you style mavens are going to the Mumsnet Christmas party/meet-up in November and if so what are you planning to wear?

I'm thinking of going but not sure what to wear. Have any of you been before? Does everyone get quite dolled up?

Would a black and charcoal sequin dress (Not as flashy as it sounds) worn under a plain black jacket with rouched shoulders be a little ott for a pub? I'd wear black opaques and possibly black suede shoe-boots which should tone down the overall look.

I'm just looking for an excuse to wear sequins really but if I'd look daft amongst a sea of wooly Boden then I have plainer dresses.

Well. I think the ensemble should be topped off by a Merrell Haven coat. Underneath if there is nothing Boden Hotchpot in your wardrobe a White Company knitted tunic or an Isabella Oliver dress with a cardigown. Please, don't upset anyone by wearing Next or Karen Millen. Biker boots a must, plus a Mulberry Alexa or beaubags fake. Please don't come along unless you have "norks" so huge you have trouble buying clothes to fit over them - but you are cheating if Bravissimo actually fits and is to your taste! Think this just about sums it all up!

And to think I was worried that "wooly Boden" might upset someone.
