What colour accessories would you wear with this coat?

My long coat hunt is over I think - I am preparing to bite the bullet and spend nearly double my budget on this one as I love it so much.
Am thinking though - will be wearing it with black boots - what colour accessories (gloves, bag, scarf, hat) would you go for?

Are you going for the black or the blue?

The black you could wear with just about any colour. The blue would look nice with cream, or black.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/10/2010 21:24

Oh sorry, the link takes you to the black version it is the Storm colourway (ie teal really)

Possibly brown. Or yellow if you're feeling brave [hgrin]

\link{http://www.southcombegloves.com/ProductDetailsNew.asp?ProductID=1450\Fab yellow gloves}
\link{http://www.southcombegloves.com/ProductDetailsNew.asp?ProductID=1104\or honey coloured ones}.
Or if they match the \link{http://www.southcombegloves.com/ProductDetailsNew.asp?ProductID=1105\teal gloves with orange piping}, you could match the teal coat with \link{http://www.southcombegloves.com/ProductDetailsNew.asp?ProductID=1083\orange gloves with teal trim}.
(sorry, went a bit glove crazy there!)

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/10/2010 21:56

Loving the gloves, Jackie. I was thinking if I splash out on the coat my purple knitted gloves are not going to work - so I thought maybe a little accessories Christmas gift list might be the thing. Yellow though? Really? See this is the problem with straying from my basic black/grey/purple palette - it leaves me struggling to deal with two colours I don't usually wear.

I know, it's difficult, isn't it! Brown is the safer option (and much easier to find and match things, if you're into matching bags/gloves/scarves). I don't think I'd wear a yellow scarf though - a bit Rupert Bear Wink. Maybe mostly brown accessories, but a scarf with a hint of yellow in the pattern somewhere, if you fancied it.

JackieNo · 25/10/2010 22:07

OK - some teal/yellow combinations (just for an idea of whether you think the colours work):

TheNextMrsDracula · 25/10/2010 22:09

Actually, teal and purple could be OK, depending on the shade.
I'm on the fence regarding the yellow, though...

JackieNo · 25/10/2010 22:12

I think I'm getting less convinced by it myself, actually, TheNextMrsD. It was really more of an off-the-wall suggestion Blush. I think maybe it's just not a good colour for accessories, even if it technically does 'go'.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 25/10/2010 22:19

They have gloves to match the coat but they are £££.
The purple gloves I have will deffo not work - they are too scruffy - will not live up to the poshness of a Hobbs coat at all.
