Manicure help please

I am about to paint my nails and they need to stay looking perfect until Wednesday. Even if I use top coat they chip sometimes so after tips please to make my manicure last.

Rubber gloves when doing housework etc

You need to paint the tops of the nails to seal the tip as well

Base coat as well helps the polish to stay

Certain polishes are better at lasting IME

I would paint them on Tuesday night.

If you do do it tonight ( i'd go for tuesday instead) top coat it every night.

I have to paint them tonight as I am going away tomorrow.

rubyslippers - what brand would you recommend for longer lasting? I have tonnes of polishes and quite a few brands.

I bought my first Barry M polish yesterday and also have some Jessica, Rimmel and Nails Inc polishes. And Leighton Denny.

OPI and Essie last best IMO.

If you really have to do them tonight build the colour up slowly. Three or four super thin coats and then a good top coat. Use a base coat if you have one.

Then avoid swimming/washing up and don't use your nails for anything (scratching/peeling etc)

And finally next time get one of those long last polishes done professionally. Mine last about three weeks

Thank you. It isn't the end of the world if they chip but I want to feel my nails look nice and not to have to take all the paraphenalia with me.
