Lips - what to wear on mine..

I am finding I need more make up than I used to! I am very fair skinned with dark blonde hair and tend to wear foundation, mascara, bronzer and then lip gloss. But I am finding that my lips disappear and look like I forgot about them Blush.

What kind of makeup does everyone else wear on their lips - daytime and also evenings? Lipgloss, lipstick? Any recommendations? I'd like something fairly neutral but that does actually define my lips.

I'll be watching this with interest...

I have a big mouth and big lips...I feel like I could do with some colour on them, but dark colours / red make me feel like a clown.

I like clinique vitamin c lip smoothie-a not too glossy gloss.

I think I have similar complexion to yours, purplearmadillo and these are the colours I wear (FYI despite my paleness, I actually have yellow undertones, which can make me look sallow. On a plus side, I do tan):

Lipsticks:

Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Creamy Nude Soft Shine - perfect natural look, but not too pale and does not make my teeth look yellow

L'oreal Made for Me Naturals for Blondes in Nude - paler version of the Clinique colour, good base for using under sheer lipglosses

Lip Tint:

Bourjois Rouge hi-tech Liptint in 04 Rose Pixel - a pain to apply, but once you get it right, the colour stays put for hours. Again, great deep base for sheer lipglosses without the heaviness of a lipstick

Lipglosses:
L'oreal Glam Shine Reflexion in 181 Sheer Grenadine - my favourite lipgloss du jour. Providing you don't buy the ridiculously sparkly ones, Glam Shines are actually very wearable, as they are reasonably pigmented, not too sticky and have decent staying power for a lipgloss.

Bourjois Effect 3D in 42 Rose symbolic - one of my favourite lip colours, shame about the non-existent staying power.

Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in 10 Grapefruit - great shine and subtle colour, stays on longer than some lipsticks. There is a catch, however - it is extremely sticky. Impossible to wear with your hair down and probably best avoided if you are planning to snog anyone ;).

HTH!

MAC do a really good lip stain, theres lots of shades and a few are very god for putting a bit of natural looking colour into your lips.
'A Classic' in particular is a very good natural shade, deosnt sit on the lips like a lipstick and stays put all day. Just put a bit of vaseline or similar on top and you have very healthy, natural looking lips that still stand out iyswim?
Another good thing about it is that its like a felt tip so very good for creating definition round the lipline without having an actual line there.

A good pinkie beige lippie for fair blondes (like moi) is Lancome Beige couture 218.

I also use a neutral lipliner from No 7 with marshmallow gloss (also no 7)

Thanks for the recommendations. I will be investigating the beauty counters on Monday. I like the idea of the mac one like a felt tip - some permanent colour sounds great as my lipgloss seems to last just long enough to get stuck in my hair and that's about it.

I am blonde with pale skin and wear Maybelline's 18 hour Superstay in Soft Taupe

It really does last all day.

I love Dior's "Colour Awakening" lip balm.

Goes on clear and gives my lips a lovely natural flush, which is basically a couple of shades darker and pinker than usual. And it tastes nice too.

Chantecaille Lip chics are like glossy lipsticks. Tea Rose is very neutral mauvey pink.
Can use without a mirror on the move as they don't need precise application.
££££ though.

Woiuld like to try the Jemma Kidd or Nars glossy lipsticks too.
