I want some super fast heating hair straighteners - do I need to buy GHD ones?

or are other brands fast and effective nowadays? Don't really want to pay more than £50

Can't speak for any newer brands but I can't see past my GHDs. Am on my second set now (only because I dropped the first from a height onto laminate, doh!).

I use mine on a v v regular basis and on a £ per use basis, they've been super great value.

However, unless prices have dropped a lot I think £50 might be a wee bit optimistic though I'm prepared to be proved wrong. Just watch out for genuine hologrammed GHDs and/or buy from genuine sites if you do go for it. There used to be a link on the GHD website where you could check whether other sites were bona fide.

HTH, good luck in your search

Babyliss ones heat up very fast and are very hot. Almost as good as GHD and much cheaper.

its actually worth spending a bit more on straighteners, they will last longer and have smoother better quality plates. GHD i think are the best and as we use them professionally, wouldn't buy anything else. GHDs also have a great curved back for doing curls

I had babyliss ones and whilst they were great and super hot, I am a GHD convert now. Hair smoother and sleeker.

I got them back in August from my hairdressers, she had them in at £99 - could sell them at that price as she had bought in bulk and got a good deal from the supplier.

Spend the extra and get GHDs

APixieInMyTea · 23/10/2010 20:00
