Apologies if this has already come up, I was so surprised that I couldn't not post about this...

I was in Primark today, turned round and saw... adult babygrows Shock For GROWN WOMEN! Confused

Are there really people who wear these things?! Am also a little confused as to the sizing issue, they were in women's sizes, but surely there is a wide range of height/shoesize within each size bracket Confused
Somebody pleeeeease explain this madness to me, I'm starting to doubt I actually saw them :o

well i am frozen & would love one for under my dressing gown!
Were they the fleecy ones, or just thin cottony?

Surprise · 22/10/2010 22:01

I had one of those in the 80s - fleecy fabric and zipped up. Didn't have feet though, which I always felt was a shame [heads off to Primarni to buy one]

RoobyMurray · 22/10/2010 22:02

yeah, but when you go for a wee, you'd have to strip off completely

LifeOfKate · 22/10/2010 22:06

Nooo, not fleecy ones, these were thin cotton ones, I had a good investigate!
They had feet!!!! They weren't plain either, had some sort of motif (perhaps a teddy bear, can't quite remember, seem to have blocked the sheer horror out) with a little slogan Confused

I have a fleecy cow print one, tis snuggly. Smile

MuGGGhoulWump · 22/10/2010 22:09

I have a pink one with monkies on. I love it.

Meglet · 22/10/2010 22:11

I have a fleecy brown one with pink giraffes.

Haven't seen the cotton ones yet, will investigate this week.

RJandA · 22/10/2010 22:14

I saw this too! Didn't see them on a rack, just a girl clutching one on the way to the checkout. I had completely forgotten about it until I read this thread. Sleep deprivation? Or maybe it was so weird I subconciously assumed that I imagined it and blocked it out?

I assume they're jamas...? Or will we be seeing these out and about on a Saturday afternoon soon? Maybe they'll start doing pinstripe ones for wearing to the office?

peggotty · 22/10/2010 22:17

OOh I remember my sister getting something like this for Christmas when she was about 16! She loved it, and I was jealous, it looked so cosy! Only to wear to bed though..

TimothyWerewolfTuppennyTail · 22/10/2010 22:19

Can all of you with fleecy ones post a like please?

I need some!!!

TIA

TimothyWerewolfTuppennyTail · 22/10/2010 22:20
Blush

I meant a link.

Surprise · 22/10/2010 22:35

Should probably add that we lived in a house with no central heating and a damp problem in the 80s so I also wore a vest under the babygro!! it was a necessity, honest.

MuGGGhoulWump · 22/10/2010 22:47

I wear a vest under mine so I don't get cold when I need a wee.
It's a daytime type vest though, not a button under baby one!

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 22/10/2010 22:51

I have the fleecy cow-print one and bought my mum the giraffe-print one as we feel the cold - lovely and snuggly for the winter

Giddyup · 23/10/2010 08:51

DP returned from a weekend away so pathetically and hideously hung over that I found him nestled on our bed wearing my one (the brown and pale pink Giraffe number!)

EsioTrot · 23/10/2010 09:02

Giddyup you made me spit my tea over my phone...hilarious :)

Giddyup · 23/10/2010 09:07

Yeah, it was not his sexiest moment TBH, I took a photo but the swine deleted it before I could humiliate him any more than he had managed to humiliate himself.

SpawnChorus · 23/10/2010 09:10

Lol at giddyup

LifeOfKate · 23/10/2010 20:04

Ok, after a night to think about it (sleep on it :o ), I can sort of see the point in the fleecy ones, in the same way I can see the appeal of Slankets, I'm sure they are lovely and cozy, but still don't think I could wear one myself. But these things were hideous thin cotton ones, there was no warmth in these at all Confused

Am very :o at the thought of Giddyup's hungover DP wearing hers though, I could just imagine DH doing that kind of thing :o My DH has a hideous pale grey tracksuit he wears around the house when it's cold, he calls it his lounge suit Hmm

Minione · 23/10/2010 23:05

My friend has one of these but its fleecy, she calls it a onesie, not sure if this is its brand name or what she calls it. She lives in it! Not quite sure what her DH thinks about this but she is mad as a bag of frogs! (in a good way!)

DramaInPyjamas · 23/10/2010 23:14

I'm wanting a fleece one for Christmas!

'Onesie' is the American name for them - I think. I remember JD from Scrubs and Pheobe from Friends wearing them!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 23/10/2010 23:18

They do cotton ones! I may have to get one. I don't like fleecy things, I get too hot but a proper cotton babygrow would be lovely.

Do you know what size they go up to? I would need a giant one to do up around my bump - unless they do maternity ones?

HonestyBox · 24/10/2010 00:36

Where do you get a fleecy one from PLLLEEEEEAASE?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 24/10/2010 11:24

There is a website where you custom design your own, they end up being about £60 i think but you can add ears if you wish Hmm Can't remember the name of the website I'm afraid.

I'm sure there is somewhere else though!

atswimtwolengths · 24/10/2010 11:33

Minione, you beat me to it. My daughter lives in Manchester and she said they're called 'onesies' up there - girls wear them when they go out, with their hair in curlers etc.
