Help! Celtic Sheepskin & Uggs - size comparison

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had both Celtic Sheepskin boots and Uggs and could tell me how the sizes compare. I take size 7 to 7.5 (helpfully have one foot bigger than the other...) and I have Uggs in 6.5 (US 8) which fit fine, if a little stretched in the toe on my bigger foot.

So I want to buy Celtic ones this year but really not sure which size. Their website says go up a size if you are a half size. But on the phone they said to go for a 7 even if one foot is 7.5 although they didn't seem very knowledgeable on the sizing. And then I heard somewhere that their boots actually come up quite small.

I remember having to take the Uggs back cos I initially got them true to size and they were massive and I don't want to end up back and forth to the post office with the wrong size Celtic ones.

Sorry for wittering. TIA.

I am afraid I have a conflicting experience of Celtic Sheepskin. IMO they are big made. I ordered my normal size and they are too big on me. Feels perfect to begin with then the sheepskin flattens down, now I have to wear two pairs of socks. However the are soooo well made and the warmest boots ever that I forgive this. HTH

Thanks. It does help, Tothesea. Does it take very long for the sheepskin to flatten? Are we talking days, weeks, months? When I had true-size Uggs I knew within an hour of wearing them that they would end up way too big. On the Celtic website photos the sheepskin looks really very thick and cosy. I'm hoping to be sock free so would be a bit sorry to have to wear extra socks. Maybe a size 7 then... I'm so excited about getting these damn boots [hblush]

I have 2 pairs, one pair is slightly smaller than the other[hhmm]

I am typically a size 7 and bought a 7. the first pair I got fit snugly with a thin pair of socks, the second pair need a thick pair of socks.

They are lovely boots and so, so comfortable, I love them. I think I would get a 7 if I were you[hsmile]

OK, the mumsnet oracle has spoken. I will go for a 7. Thanks, Saurus and Sea!
