Pure Collection cardi- ummmm...not sure!

My £100 longline cashmere cardi arrived today, and know what? Not sure about it.

The cashmere feels more like merino. I have a few Boden cashmere tops and they are very thick and almost fluffy like angora.

This feels quite thin and although it's soft, it is not that soft.

Has anyone else bought from Pure and what's the verdict?

I have various bits of cashmere from J Crew, Boden, Brora and remember thinking when I got the Brora (the most expensive of all!) that it was more merino like and not fluffy. But it was warm. However, having done lots of research I think it's all to do with the knit, and, when I washed the Brora, it became softer. My originally fluffy (which I thought was the best!) J Crew cashmere is now all bobbly and fit for the house only, despite lots of love and care. I think you do get what you pay for and that the 'proper' more expensive cash lasts, as it's spun with care. However I'm not an expert and I don't have experience with Pure! (I have only got their merino/cash blends because none of the cash styles suited me - too short in length).

In short - I remember that feeling when I got my Brora sweater last year and was really disappointed, but when I washed it it did become softer, and they do say cashmere gets better with age (I don't know as I've only got one bit of decent cashmere!)

Thanks all.

I have now seen a couple of White Company tunics....

I'd like to keep the cardi but at £100 I am going to have to be really convinced so will think on it.
