I've just ordered the fleece lined anorak. It has 30% off today but I used it along with the 15% off + free delivery code which brought it down to £21.42. I also went through topcashback so will get 5.5% cashback on that too!

kittya · 20/10/2010 15:19

do you think it will be warm enough though? Ive just been looking at it?

OP posts:
kittya · 20/10/2010 15:20

the spend £30 get ten off is still a better code isnt it?

OP posts:
escorchio · 20/10/2010 15:20

My DD has had the anorak for a couple of weeks now. She says it is cosy, but I'm not sure it would be enough for a severe winter. First snows near here today!

kittya · 20/10/2010 15:26

thats what Im worried about. Should I go for the padded jacket or the duffle? I dont want to get it wrong, its alot of money!!

OP posts:
florenceuk · 20/10/2010 15:38

I reckon the padded jacket should be the warmest, then the fleece (duffle not bullet-proof enough for my DD).

weepootle · 20/10/2010 15:48

kittya, if you buy it at full price, the £10 off £30 will only give you it for £26, the 30% off makes it only £25.20 so you'd have to buy something else to use the £10 off £30.

I buy one of these coats for dd1 every year - it has seen her through the whole winter, she loves them. I definitely think they're warm enough with a top/cardie underneath on the coldest days. Cosier than the duffle - the draughts get up the wide sleeves!

Bellebelle · 20/10/2010 16:02

Ordered the ski jacket and fleece lined one for DD, both good but keeping the ski one as warmer and DD prefers it.

kittya · 20/10/2010 16:18

you can use the 15% off code as well as todays 30% off offer. Bargain!!

OP posts:
weepootle · 20/10/2010 16:36

That's what I said in my first post!

kittya · 20/10/2010 16:39

I know you did but it wasnt til I got to the check up that I realised what you meant!! bloody hell, is that abit of a cockup?

Have they been doing these specials for long? Ive never seen anyone else mention them, you would think they wouldve sent an email.

OP posts:
HotchpotchHoney · 20/10/2010 16:48

hope they don;t stop it before the end of the week as its been great for me lol!
i have brought dd1 the fleece lined anorak in the red and shes plenty warm enough, today was the first day she kept it on on the way to school, normally she takes it off because shes got too hot on her scooter.
we also have the ski jacket in the brown print, but its not been cold enough yet for her to wear it (i took the fur off the hood) and today i ordered the cord duffle and a hat and scarf set.

kittya · 20/10/2010 17:05

I ordered the long duffle and a couple of the ski jackets.

How long have they being doing this I wonder?

I wonder what time they change it at?

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 20/10/2010 17:08

If you want warmth go for the padded jacket.
DD complained the duffle I bought her for school last year wasn't warm enough, and prefered the ski jacket.

The padded jackets are by far the warmest, though, and one of the reasons I still buy from Boden.

kittya · 20/10/2010 17:10

is the padded jacket the same as the ski jacket? Im just going off whats been reduced today.

Blooming shame about the duffle though!! It looks really nice, did you get her the long one?

OP posts:
HotchpotchHoney · 20/10/2010 17:19

i think they might mean this one?

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-Coats-Jackets/35061/Girls-Two-in-one-Padded-Jacket.html

this one would normally be on my list for dd as well but for some unknown reason they have decided to go with tacky shiney material this year and it looked awful in real life. they are very warm though so if you don;t mind the shineyness go for it.

kittya · 20/10/2010 17:28

Im sure they will like the shineyness though!! I thought it was good value at£27. We will see.

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 20/10/2010 17:32

Yes, this year they a very shiny, and I don't really like the colours, which is why I've bought a boys padded jacket for DS2,a dn will be giving his old padded jacket to DD.
Yes, I bought her the long duffle. I can't figure out why it's not as warm as the ski jacket....I'm only going on what DD tells me. I have had a lot of compliments on how nice it looks, though.

weepootle · 20/10/2010 17:36

They had the same offer on last week on big prints. I've been getting emails to tell me about it- they also tell you on the email that you can combine it with your 15% off, so it's not an error.

weepootle · 20/10/2010 17:38

It's definitely worth buying on these offers, they're ending up cheaper than they'd probably go in the sale anyway and by the time the sale starts, there'll be no sizes left in the decent stuff.

kittya · 20/10/2010 17:46

gosh, Im abit put out that I havent been getting an email. If it was a sale day there would be none of those childrens coats left.

Is it a weekly or daily thing?

Blooming bargain. I got some shoes as well.

OP posts:
weepootle · 20/10/2010 18:26

The last one I got was on the 10th Oct, the offer was 25% off print dresses & skirts, again you could use it with your 15% code, but........... they also gave me a £5 credit voucher to use against the order - what a bargain!

HotchpotchHoney · 20/10/2010 18:32

i get a bit fed up of boden emails tbh, i spend far too much with them each season because they are about the only place that sells childrens clothes that are age appropriate without being dull or impractical for my children (sorry as much as i love white company, those shades just don;t work for my messy children) and i never get emails with offers from them, i alwasy google though and now thanks to them not shoing me any good offers, i only buy if i can use a 15% off voucher or higher.

kittya · 20/10/2010 18:35

I hardly ever get an email off them, let alone money off vouchers. im annoyed now!!

I must write a letter of complaint.... all that money I dont have, I coulve been spending.

OP posts:
SerendipityAlways · 20/10/2010 18:57

This is all very interesting, like you kittya I got no emails about this, thank god for Mumsnet!

Am liking the boys 2 in 1 red padded jacket. Reduced from £40 to £32 and with the £10 off a spend over £30, that brings it down to £22??? Hard to believe.

Anyone got the current code for the £10 off?? Am then off to try! [hgrin]
