What's MN's verdict on Boden's Rainy Day Jacket?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I can't find it.

So what do you think? Does anyone have one?
I would only go for the black one and I don't care that it's not shower proof (in case it isn't). Does it look really 'Bodeny'? Is it warm?

TIA!

here. I bought a jacket like this from Boden last year, and have hardly ever worn it,as I found it very "stiff",it never softened. But it seems to have good reviews...I got this from Joules last week, and am loving it! Warm, showerproof, and the lining can be unzipped to leave a light summer jacket.Perfect!

It screams Boden ,shame the black isn't entirely black .
Have seen the one from last yr on people and it looks like a childs coat ,all plasticky and stiff. Not flattering.
This one has the detail on the waist so may be better.. but doubt it.

I have a green and purple one I bought a couple of years ago and the more I think about it the more I realise I hate it!
The material is stiff and unyielding, it's not quite long enough and the worst thing is you can't tighten the hood at all, so if you live anywhere where it might also be windy when it's raining (certainly true of the West of Scotland; maybe the yummy mummies of the Home Counties only know "showers") the hood blows down all the time unless you hold it up.
I'm due a wardrobe clear-out, and the Boden raincoat is going to be in the charity shop pile.

I got one three years ago - the material is stiff, the buttons all fell off (they now have zips I think), although fleecy inside it isn't all that warm and worst of all in heavy rain it soaks through completely within minutes.

I've got the chocolate geo one and love it. Beautiful colour, well-fitted and kept me dry in a downpour yesterday. It's lined (apart from sleeves) and pretty warm though not a winter coat. I have had so many compliments on it.

The only issue is the buttons keep falling off! Looking at the reviews it seems like a common problem.

Thanks for putting the link woopsidaisy.

Very undecided now! It does scream Boden, doesn't it? And if it's not warm I definitely don't want it!

That Joules one is nice, but I was looking for something a bit 'dressier', that I could bring to work....

Yes,I would have liked something a bit "dressier" too,but couldn't find anything that was showerproof...I got a nice little wool coat in Debenhams for dressier occasions.

aigle. I like a thin raincoat with layers under to suit the weather, myself.
