Do I need to book one or can I just turn up?

I'm thinking of The Body Shop.

Why Body Shop? Sorry, just think of it as adolescent make up.

I know the counters in John Lewis you can ostly just wander over and have a consultation.

Can I recommend Decleor for facial products and my new love is Chanel make up after many worthwhile recommendations on here

Erm, you got me.

Well, I guess you could call me an adolescent wrt make-up. I do wear it, but have never had any help/tuition, if you like. I'm a basic foundation, blusher, mascara kinda gal and even then, I'm not I've been using them correctly the past 15-odd years!

I dunno. I feel a big dept store would be too intimidating and I'd end up leaving feeling very uncomfortably made up, IYKWIM. I've always had the impression the Body Shop products are more natural/less heavy/more everyday. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Im not saying your wrong at all, and I also hate heavy over done make up.

But what I found when I went to Chanel was that they had a range of make up (specifically mascara and foundation, as like you thats about all I wear) that was either one or the other.
I bought the basic mascara which defines my lashes really well without making me look like a drag queen with big sticky spidery lashes. Also their foundation (Vitalumiere) is so dewy on my skin, not heavy at all.

Another bonus is that on the chanel counter in boots they seem to be 'normal' women rather than the overly made up foetus' you often get on other counters
