Talk to me about jeans...

please!

I'm struggling.

I don't have any jeans at the moment, haven't had a pair since I was pregnant with DD2 and she's now seven months old. Have always been the kind of person who 'lives' in jeans, but just haven't had the time to hunt down a decent pair post pregnancy.

Anyway, I'm after some with a straight leg (would love skinny but I have quite chunky legs, so straight is my best bet I think). I'm a size 12/14 bottom (more likely a 14 in straight legs) and don't mond paying a reasonable amount for something decent. I used to buy French Connection jeans as hey're a good length on me (I need 33" inside leg, but 34" wil do if not) and they usually cost around £75, but hte only ones they have at the moment seem impossibly slim.

I can't go through the winter without jeans.

Try Zara and Topshop, both do longer length.

Martha jeans in Topshop - they are quite generous in sizing imho.

Second the recommendation for gap real straight jeans - I'm chunky of leg too, and could never wear skinnies, but tried on loads of jeans at half a dozen shops last week, and the only pair that fit comfortably were the the gap ones (sale rail - £19.99). I tried the gap curve ones thinking they would be the thing, but the fit was really odd. The real straight ones have a tiny bit of stretch in them, which I usually hate, but it's not so much that they look like stretch jeans, iyswim.

Third the gap real straight. I don't find that they bag like some people do - but I do wear them with a belt as I cant get into my waist size in the thigh area so have to size up - hence the belt.
I have them in the indigo as well as a lighter wash. Find them really comfy and a good alternative to skinny fit.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I would try several charity shops. There are amazing bargains to be had and if you find something decent, which you probably will, you will not worry about wasting money if you gain/lose weight.

I'll give the Gap ones a go!
