Oil cleansing method

I am about 10 days into this now and might be seeing results. My skin would normally be getting very oily a couple of hours after applying make up but it seems to be staying matt pretty much all day. Not sure if the general congestion of my skin is improving but I think it might be a little better. I assume if I am producing less oil then over the next few weeks my skin will clear. But what about anti ageing products? I am 46 and although I think my oily skin has been a good defence against wrinkles I feel I need help around the eyes still. What do others do? And what about sun protection?

Marking my place here as I have similar concerns but nothing really helpful to add!

I get your concerns. Everyday that I use no moisturiser or sun protection I think "what about sun protection?".

I have no answers.

I saw your last thread, and have done this twice since. Should I be doing it daily?? I'm using my normal products on the days I don't do the oil method.

I just do oil cleansing at night - in morning just splash with warm water then use normal moisturiser and make up with spf

I have been 'doing it' every evening using olive oil as I can't track down castor oil.The lady in Boots looked at me very strangely. It takes my make up off a treat and I do feel really clean. I then hold my face under the shower to rinse a bit more as the oil was making my eyes a bit sore at first. In the morning I just rinse under the shower with warm water.I have started using a bit of eye cream again in the evenings and have some Clinique Almost Make-Up which has sunscreen which I usually use in summer so will continue with it for now.

I started this about 2 weeks ago and am also seeing results.
I have really oily, spotty skin and around the time of my period it would normally go haywire -although I have a couple of spots, it's much improved.

However, I still need to use a light moisturiser before bed and I use an eye cream to try to stem the tide of wrinkles.

The next morning, I find it's enough to splash my face with warm water; it doesn't feel tight.

Do you use foundation? If so, could you get one with a decent SPF in it?

I forgot to add that when I moisturise at night, I really only apply it to my neck and where I have deeper wrinkles developing on my brow -the rest of my skin feels fine.

OP I bought some castor oil in an asian grocery shop - I asked and they had it behind the counter. I am using that mixed with a Boot Botanics Baby massage oil (mix of a few oils: jojoba and grapeseed oil and another one I can't remember).

PM after OCM, I still use my moisturiser around my eyes and on the nose to mouth lines.

In the morning I use my normal cleanser and normal moisturiser with SPF, avoiding my T zone. Though I am in Scotland and not outside that much so I honestly am not concerned about SPF. (more concerned about Vit D deficiency!)
