Autumn Ball/Dinner - what to wear with this ?

Have a dress similar style to this but in bias cut satin stretch fabric. Have black shoes with small heel but wondering what to wear with it ie. shrug and accessories. Theme is Autumn - season of mist and mellow fruitfulness !

if dress is very plain and shoes low key, would you be up for some statement jewellery or dramatic shrug type thingie? eg fur or lace

will you wear your hair up or down?

what the neckline of your dress like?

LIZS · 18/10/2010 18:25

Highish neckline. Undertstated is good ! I'm blonde so not sure if can get away with gold accessories , not fur . Hair up/back

I,m a bit concerned that if you wear a plain red day dress, black shoes with a small heel, low key gold jewellery and your hair tied back you will look like you are going to the office, not to an autumn ball

can't we glam you up just a little??????

pretty please?

LIZS · 18/10/2010 21:18

It has sheen to the fabric so not really a day dress. I was thinking of a gold crochet style bolero but can't find one. Not likely to get much use of one so dontl wnat to spend ££

If you are wearing your hair up then you need an amazing pair of statement earrings but no necklace as will clash against high neckline. Have you looked in Accessorize as last year they did some beautiful drop earrings that loooked like Autumnal berries! Would try to find a pashmina rather than a crochet bolero as they are more useful and can be used like a funky scarf afterwards? And also keep you warmer!! Again Accessorize usually do some lovely ones! Its my one stop shop when Im attending an occasion!! Hth!

LIZS · 19/10/2010 08:32
