Frumpy or classic or neither?

gorehaginhellsbum · 16/10/2010 11:26

Can't decide whether it could be verging on frumpy or I'll get lots of use out of it. i.e. doing the round of Xmas drinks/dinners (at peoples houses) not out partying.
Opinions please

I have no idea what you are talkining about.

LynetteScavo · 16/10/2010 11:28

Oh, OK. It's not frumpy, but neither is it "classic" I think you'd get quite a bit of wear out of it.

KenDoddsDadsZombieDogsNotDead · 16/10/2010 11:32

I like it but it would look frumpy/ dumpy on me just because of my body shape. Love the colour.

vinvinoveritas · 16/10/2010 11:32

Neither. It's not frumpy, I like the twist detail. Not classic because it has that print/colour so I think you'd only wear it maybe one year or two but you could dress it up/down quite easily Smile

said · 16/10/2010 11:35

The neckline is too high

muddleduck · 16/10/2010 11:37

I think you like it because it is on sale.

booooooooooyhoo · 16/10/2010 11:45

i think it looks slightly frumpy and the neckline doesn't help. i would picture it on a teacher in her late 50's.

i think if it was a wrap dress it would be better.

perfumedlife · 16/10/2010 12:12

I quite like it. Depends on your body shape though as to how frumpy it could look.

TheNextMrsDracula · 16/10/2010 12:16

Nice if you haven't got too many lumps and bumps but that neckline does nothing for me.

perfumedlife · 16/10/2010 12:22

For that money, why not have a look on ASOS for a Christmassy outfit. They had some great dresses on there lastnight for thirty pounds. Quality isn't always that good mind you.

3thumbedwitch · 16/10/2010 12:25

I like it apart from the neckline which wouldn't suit me in a million years - but the colour and twist detail is nice. I agree it's going to depend on whether it suits your body shape as to it looking frumpy or not.

BelligerentGhoul · 16/10/2010 13:10

Don't like the neckline but otherwise it looks okay. It also really depends on the length too though - too far below the knee would be Not Good.

BlooKangaWonders · 16/10/2010 13:25

not good material - it won't last/ wash well.

Tortington · 16/10/2010 13:28

its really minging.

getabloodygrip · 16/10/2010 13:31

There is a reason it is 50% off mid season.....

Yuk.
Sorry.

Dracschick · 16/10/2010 13:33

It isnt good.

Poppet45 · 16/10/2010 13:34

Horrid. Sorry.

zebratum · 16/10/2010 13:37

I think you could find something nicer, if you have boobs that dress will be a disaster!

BelligerentGhoul · 16/10/2010 13:39

Yes to it being an absolute travesty with norks.

Try Whistles - they have much nicer versions of dresses which that one is aspiring to be but isn't. Unfortunately much more expensive though.

hatwoman · 16/10/2010 13:40

WI trying to be a bit daring. not good.

Maryqueenofchocs · 16/10/2010 15:00

No No No.

Neckline too high as previous posts, and althougb the colour is 'ok' the pattern looks like something the cat threw up.

You would wear it once, then it would sit in your wardrobe under the title 'can't bring myself to wear again'.

Far better to look for similar shape (lower neckline) in Black / Navy or another solid colour which suits you and is a classic and then accessorise it up for parties. Much more versatile, much more use.

gorehaginhellsbum · 16/10/2010 15:58

Yes muddleduck, the reason I am drawn to it is mainly because it's in the sale!
It is a shape that would suit me and like the twisty bit but agree it could be ageing with neckline/length.

At least I've ordered some homeware and Xmas presents too so my parcel won't be too disappointing.

Love the WI comment.

Well, if you've ordered it already you can try it on and see if it suits you.

It's all about confidence anyway; if you feel that you look good in it, you will. Then you can tell everyone on here to sod off!!
