Hmm, at that size you have a really good selection available. H&M used to do some nice cheaper undies - haven't been able to buy there for a while lol, as did new look.

Debenhams sales tend to be really good - they have some lovely stuff in just now. Also, figleaves outlet tend to get some nice things - hit or miss but I have picked up some amazing bargains.

this site is very good- should be filtered to 34b

Also, and please don't be offended - have you been fitted recently? Most women wear a bra which is too big in the back and too small in the cup, and whilst it's not impossible that you are a 34, at a size 10 it's also quite likely that you are actually smaller.

wheresmymojogone · 15/10/2010 22:05

No was fitted when pregnant nearly 3 years ago and just worn a 34b since.

No offended at all, thank you very much.

Ok, go get yourself fitted BUT do not go to M&S, pleaaseee!!!!! They are notorious for getting it wrong.

I use bravissimo but they start at a d (which you may actually be, lol) but for a wider range of sizes I would try John Lewis, if you have one nearby - they've started fitting the same way as bravissimo, or debenhams. Whoever fits you shouldn't just measure - they should look at the bra you're wearing and assess it - checking how it fits round the back, across the cups, etc. If they don't do this, don't buy anything based on the fitting as it's probably inaccurate.

To give you an idea - the back of your bra should be snug - it should sit horizontally around your body, shouldn't ride up at the back at all, and you should only be able to run a couple of fingers underneath the band. If it's any looser than that, tis too big in the back.

I wore a bra a while ago a 32b and it gave me chest pains,it was padded and I can only wear for special occasions with a certain dress etc.

I was last measured at m&s so wont be going back there, thanks again I will take yoyr advice on board.

If you normally wear a 34b, then a 32b would have been too small. As a rough rule of thumb, for every back size you go down, you need to go up 1-2 cup sizes. So, if you look at yourself in a 34b and don't have any bumps, overspills etc, then I would try a 32c or d, and even a 30d/dd as a starting point.

If you have any of the mcarthur glen outlets anywhere nearby then they often have a lingerie shop in which stocks lots of wonderbras very cheaply - the nicer ones which come as part of sets, often with options for suspenders too. My local next outlet often has nice underwear reduced to a pound or two (never in my size, sob) and TK Maxx is often good if you're a normalish size (not me!)

try NEXT, La Redoute for reasonable undies..

scotsgirl, I managed to find two gorgeous Elixir sets in TKMaxx for about £10 each in a 30G so don't write them off completely Grin

Do start with a decent fitting though OP, as it should teach you how a good fit looks and feels. You can then try a bigger range of sizes rather than just one and still often get a good result.

scotsgirl23 · 15/10/2010 22:56

Lol, got fitted this afternoon - a 30J! Resigned myself to bras which could double up as hats for a while!

Bonsoir · 16/10/2010 09:07

I love Bodas for the fit - gives you a great shape.

marriednotdead · 16/10/2010 09:45

It's Panache all the way for you then Scotsgirl Grin

gorehaginhellsbum · 16/10/2010 11:50

Are you in London?
Selfridges has a fantastic selection in your size, Elle McPherson very pretty and sexy. Aubade are nice, Fauve and Lepel.

I would definitely get yourself measured properly before you splash out though somewhere like Bravisiimo (super-tight back sizing) or Rigby & Peller.

gorehaginhellsbum · 16/10/2010 11:52

scots girl-I've been internet searching for that Freya bra for about six months in my size. Thanks for linking!!!

TheNextMrsDracula · 16/10/2010 12:18

Sorry, but I'm an M&S girl through and through. Every time I've bought stuff elsewhere I've regretted it. If you go to a big store they have an amazing range.

FanjolinaJolie · 16/10/2010 12:26

M&S stuff is great and sexy without being vampish.
