How to wear brown biker boots ?

I Got New Boots linky link for winter.

I like the idea of the dainty floral dress with rough old biker style boots look. It seems to fit my character and my hairstyle (crazy hair, not straightened, curly and worn up mostly in a messy curly half bun kind of bird's nest)and kiddie transport (old Silver Cross vintage pram).

However, I don't know which coat / warm tops go with the boots and dress, or indeed how to wear the boots without a dress (not Lady Ga Ga stle 'without a dress' by the way!) ie what sort of jeans/top combo.

Also, my stats might not suit the biker look. I'm 42 soon, baby and toddler, 5' 9" and a size 14 with saddlebag thighs.

Please help me on how to style my look with these boots!

PS I'm too young for Boden yet. Wink
and anyway everyone else in the village wears Boden, I'd like to be a bit different, but without standing out, if that makes sense.

Skinny jeans or jeggings with long tops/tunics. Or knee-length skirts over opaque tights. I think a cardi over your dresses would be good - type would depend on the dress rather than the boots I think.

It's a shame you don't like Boden as I think one if their velvet coats would look great with the dress/boots combo. Have you seen Mint Velvet stuff? JL stock it now..

I love those boots, but the narrow calf concerns me... I will measure my tree trunks when I have given birth! I plan on wearing biker boots with thick opaques, flowery frocks, skinnys etc

ignore the stats - if you have a baby and toddler you are by definition a " young mum" so you must dress like a 32yo

tunics and skinnies are great if you are the right shape ( i cant do them as i'm very top heavy)and very pratical with small children, easy for bf

gb.looklet.com/create

Sadly it's full of advertising, but dressing up the models is fun and it does help with your own idea on how to wear things together for a complete 'look'.

Didnt really solve my biker boots/floral dress/which coat or top query though!

Biker boots/floral dress and waist length cardi
(merino wool type, thin but warm),, What about nipped in at waist type coat/ fitted at waist
same length or slightly shorter then dress.
Military looks good.

Skinny jeans with good weight cover the bum
jumper, or jumper dress.

What about looking at the 'Toast' catalogue for feel of what you're going for?..

mashedup Just got new 'Whitestuff' catalogue,
lots of nice 'boho' type dresses that go with biker boots!

How about Joe Browns . I know it's for young festival goer types but I love their stuff and would seem to suit the style you describe.

They have a fab red cord coat. I love cord!

Propinquity · 16/10/2010 23:32

SweetnessAndShite I'd never even heard of them, but I can't believe how gorgeous all their stuff is! Exactly what I like, thanks ! Smile
