Hi, have posted in the pregnancy bit too :)
Basically I am 14 and a half week pregnant and I feel like an ugly frumpy freak! I'm 29 and feel 69! Has anyone got any make up tips/nice brands/anything at all to make me feel like a sexy woman again rather than a human grow bag??!!
Any help will be greatfully recieved :)

My advice would be to always wear make up when outside the home. It's routine with me anyway but I would suggest it ESP when pregnant and it mAkes you feel glam and more life like.

Also, at time taken to put makeup on is a lovely pamper session.

I also recommend tummy creams for your growing bump, again time for yourself and also I believe bonding time with the unborn baby. Hth x

Keep de-fuzzing your legs, plucking eyebrows etc. When I was pg I wore quite form fitting styles to show off my bump, rather than tents. I wore mostly skirts and dresses as I didn't find maternity jeans made me feel very attractive ...

Nice jewellery (not necessarily expensive) helps, plus emphasising the bits of you that are still thin (wrists, neck etc).

Also found aquanatal classes brilliant - feeling weightless in the pool, wonderful!

Buy some clothes that do make you feel nice, Serpahine and Isabella Oliver are nice and EBay well afterwards. Have a look on crave maternity too though lots of frumpy looking stuff on here too.

I've worn some Seraphine items through three pregnancies and others I Ebayed so it is worth spending money on nice things even though you will be "only wearing them for 6 months"

These tops are great right through from flabby tummy to full bump

Definetly show off your bump. Get some good jeans with slim fitting legs.

Invest in a couple of nice dresses can be worn with tights (but maternity ones too!) or leggings. This was my favourite

There is some great knitwear around this season that could work well on bumps - long jumpers, knitted dresses, capes, etc worn over jeans / leggings or tights. I bought a few fab non maternity items from TKMaxx during my last pregnancy, similar timing to yours which worked really well. Fennwrightmanson have some good knitwear. I'd look at the styles on the maternity sites but buy from the high street.

First trimester is the worst! I felt a lot better after about week 15/16. My skin suddenly glowed and my bump started to look like a pregnancy bump and not a spare tyre.

I agree with cruella re the skirts and dresses - I wore mainly stretchy, jersey, non-maternity stuff, which fitted my bump rather than tent-like clothing. Maternity jeans are terrible. And get a nice coat - I bought an expensive swing style one which I can wear when non pregnant, it made me feel groomed even when huge.

And yes, shave or wax and moisturise, keep your eyebrows nice, wear make-up and get your hair styled. Find a beautiful, not-too-strong scent. All of these things kept me sane :)

Oh yes - Seraphine stuff is gorgeous. I bought a number of maternity things from there.

Also some cheaper things from H&M maternity - I found them not as frumpy as most.
