Would a stylish, rich 20yo like a Betty Barclay watch?

These watches are very discounted. Are they any good? I have never heard of Betty Barclay.

Need to buy a present for a very stylish, very sloany, very rich, rather spoiled 20yo.

Pref Amazon as it needs to be online and delivered soon, but another reliable website would be fine too.

Was thinking a watch, or make-up (though did that last year) or jewelery, or a little bag? Something quirky maybe, because she buys SO MUCH STUFF that if it's ever been the thing to have she will already have it.

She's not particularly girly, a bit rugby, a bit gaap yar. Imagine the sort of girl who hangs out with Wills and Harry (she doesn't, but she's that sort).

It's not a fab make to be honest although the watches are ok to look at all in all.

What about something like this....

www.robertopiecollection.com/Application/Products/optima-picnic/Pip-picnic-basket-GB.asp

It's an heirloom brand, it comes in regatta colours and its a bit of fun Smile

Or something from Hollister or A&F- terribly sloany pony

YunoYurbubson · 12/10/2010 12:04

Right. No to Betty Barclay watch then.

Not keen on the hamper. Don't think she'd use it.

Will keep looking.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Why don't you get her a voucher to have a mani/pedi somewhere nice near where she lives?

JoanHolloway · 12/10/2010 12:27

All the sloany swooshy haired girls I see in chelsea are carrying those longchamp bags atm?

deathjeff · 12/10/2010 13:31

Does she ride?

I have secret methods of getting discounted equestrian Links of london charms

YunoYurbubson · 12/10/2010 14:47

What about one of these? Price range £25 - 30.

I second one of those nylon and leather Longchamp Pliage bags. They are v. useful and definitely, like, sooooo faaaarb. here

kittya · 12/10/2010 17:13

I quite like those bags, they look abit older though dont they? I cant see an A@F gal using one. Although, what do I know??!

ColdComfortFarm · 12/10/2010 17:18

def no to watch. I would buy something like teeny fake diamond earrings or the latest chanel nail varnish. Why go mad?

happilyeverafter · 12/10/2010 17:35

At Clothes Show lots of beautiful young things were mass buying these necklaces. They had some gold and diamonte versions which although not my style looked very cool.

FallingWithStyle · 12/10/2010 17:46

I wouldn't risk anything fashion tbh - How about a lovely Journal or notebook from somewhere like Aspinal?

ColdComfortFarm · 12/10/2010 18:03

Seriously, buy something that can be used sometimes. The very latest nail varnish, little 'diamond' earrings are popular. Is she a relative? Can you ask what she'd like?

Bonsoir · 12/10/2010 18:07

Don't try too hard to give a fashionable/quirky present if you aren't yourself into fashion -you'll get it wrong and waste your money.

ColdComfortFarm · 12/10/2010 18:09

Itunes voucher?

kittya · 12/10/2010 18:51

My nine year old niece would love one of those necklaces for Christmas!!

YunoYurbubson · 12/10/2010 20:22

Thanks all for the help. I ended up disregarding you all and getting her this.

I think she'll like it though. It's quite usable.

kittya, you'd think so wouldn't you, but no. Kensington & Chelsea is swarming with hearty young sloanes using those bags.

kittya · 13/10/2010 21:56

then, they have no taste!!
