Hair dilemma re hairdressers

I had my hair dyed red on Friday - previsouly been having it done blonde. Sat down with ahridresser beforehand to decide what colour I wanted and whether to stay blone or go red. Decided to go a dark red.
When it was done, it was great, but I've washed it twice since Friday (with a colour protector shampoo) and to me it looks like it's faded a LOT, and almost looks pink in sunlight.
I udnerstand red fades fast anyway, but I feel as if the hairdresser should ahve warned me that on blone hair it would fade really fast.
It cost £60 and I can't afford to have it done again - what will they say if I tell them i'm not happy? Would it be unreasonable of me to expect another colour for free?
I dont' even know what to say when I ring up ... or should I turn up and let them see why I'm not happy?
I hate complaining.
Please help, what should I do?

I was the same, my hair was bleached then red, it went pink within a week.

I've since tried to dye it dark brown and it just keeps red/brown then fades super fast.

I think ive damaged my scalp too!

So am stuck now with reddybrown muddy faded pinkish hair.

Lovely.

Oh no! Why didn't they warn me? I'd have stayed blondeand they'd still have had their money and a happy customer.

Red is a tricky colour. I grey brown hair and have blonde highights and I asked ny hairdresser if some red highlights would be nice. She talkedme out of it, saying that they look washed out very quickly.

However, you spent £60, so I would go back and say that you are not happy and get some professional advice about what to do next

I just rang them and told them the colour had faded to pink and they said to come in and they'd apply it again.
They won't charge me, will they?! I was too chicken to ask. [useless emoticon]

It'll be free and if they ask for anything - which is unlikey, then refuse.

Thank you. I feel like an idiot walking around with pink hair. Dark red I could cope with, felt like this was my last chance to go red before I get too old Grin

I will be brunette again for Christmas and have learned the hard way, I suit dark best.
