Is it too young for a 40 year old?

Maryqueenofchocs · 08/10/2010 21:15

Absolutely not, its gorgeous. Shame on you for asking.Shock

piratecat · 08/10/2010 21:16

Shoes? Accessories? Elaborate please..think it's look good with patent black peeptoes as well as black suede killer heel boots imo..Wink

Maryqueenofchocs · 08/10/2010 21:26

or even....'think it would look good'.........!Blush

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/10/2010 21:33

Love it. Great dress. If only I were a bit taller and a bit slimmer

ValiumSingleton · 08/10/2010 21:34

Black tights, maybe shoes like these but not these because I can't afford to spend this much

OP posts:
ValiumSingleton · 08/10/2010 21:34

I'm only five foot 2

OP posts:
BelleDameSansMerci · 08/10/2010 21:37

Ah, so you can do the petite thing. I'm 5'5"/size 12 which is just wrong for this look (if you're me). I just can't pull it off but I like to blame it on my height/weight rather than the fact that I am losing my edge Grin

LynetteScavo · 08/10/2010 21:41

It's lovely.

I can see Connie Beauchamp wearing it with some splendid heels.

pointydog · 08/10/2010 21:52

I love that dress.

pointydog · 08/10/2010 21:53

I'm about 5'6 and size 12 and I don;'t think that's wrong for this look at all, belle.

Humph.

Ronaldinhio · 08/10/2010 21:55

tis lovely

ValiumSingleton · 08/10/2010 21:56

I don't get that either. 5'6 & size 12 would look great in it.

I probably couldn't walk in those red or ded shoes.

OP posts:
BelleDameSansMerci · 08/10/2010 21:58

pointydog you're probably not 45 and feeling a bit old and past it, though. It's actually exactly the kind of thing that I love but I'm feeling a bit too frumpy of late.

pointydog · 08/10/2010 22:00

Hem hem. I'm not that far off 45 and I have to tell myself I look mighty fine every day to avoid feelings of frumpiness.

AuraofDora · 08/10/2010 22:01

ladies, its the crucial half inch of a difference then, it must be!
and you have to count in dog years for pointy's age!

BelleDameSansMerci · 08/10/2010 22:03

You probably do look mighty fine... If I'm honest, I've still got "it" it's just cunningly concealed under layers of tiredness and pissedoffness. I'll find it again soon!

upahill · 08/10/2010 22:09

Wow!!
I want it!
I'm going to check that one out next week.

pointydog · 08/10/2010 22:16

Must admit, I would never ever look in warehouse. Cause of my age

thehairybabysmum · 08/10/2010 22:47

OMG...i bought this dress two weeks ago, not worn yet but i love it.

It is v flattering.

I am 40, a size 14, 5ft 4 so not tall and it still ooks ok.

Im so chuffed that an actual item of my clothing is featured (and liked) in S&B!!

ValiumSingleton · 09/10/2010 09:33

I never look there either, on account of my age and on account of the fact that most of their clothes terrible...., I only noticed it because it was on the house of fraser site. I must order it quickly if I want it. I think it will go quickly.

OP posts:
ValiumSingleton · 09/10/2010 09:35

Is it true to size thehairy? I am a size ten - 12, but it's risky ordering on line. With a dress i'm going to risk going for the ten because I have no boobs, narrow shoulders and my thighs are the part of me that are size 12. i'm making myself sound gorgeous Grin. I am a weeble, Trinny and Susanna call it pear-shaped.

FunkySkunk · 09/10/2010 09:38

Must admit I thought 'god that's awful' but kept being drawn back to the page. I think I like it now. I often shop in Warehouse so may have to go and see the dress in person today.

Am almost 40 but love Warehouse stuff.

bishboschone · 09/10/2010 17:37

I love it..I nearly bought it but its pricey and I have no where to wear it . I am hourglass and its super flattering.
