Crazy hair! Plaiting wet hair to get it wavy or curly?

Have long hair that is just MAD!!
Its straight in some parts, ultra curly behind my ears and bushy in other bits :)

So I've washed it, could it be plaited or twisted to get it wavy or curly? If so what's the best way?

Sounds like my hair :)

A loose plait will give kind of kinky waves and will help smooth it all down. Twisting it into a tight bun can work too but you have to be careful about clips and hairbands as they can make for quite random kinks.

I have found GHDs to be my saviour for just sorting out the really crazy frizzy bits and then leaving the rest to its own devices.

The sock bun method ! google on you tube - annoying girl 0 great hair

i found out recently that if i put my hair up in a pony tail whilst damp, then put bobbles about 2 inches apart on the 'tail'

that when its dry and you take them out you have that kind of 50's wave

My 6 year old DD has hair just like this! It is straight on top with a layer of bushiness underneath then a layer of curls under that. It is massive and I never know what to do with it.

Sadly I think she is too young for straighteners. I may try the plait thing but then I would have to wash her hair every day.

agree with Custardo . I only put one elastic in and it is nice and wavy/curly buit frizzy at top though but thats my hair

You wouldn't need to wash it every day nikki. You could dampen it down with a bit of water or diluted leave-in conditioner and then plait it before bed.
