tell me about Uniqlo heat tech stuff

...specifically, since I will have to order it online, about the sizing. Other things I have from Uniqlo have come up rather snug. So:

Are the sleeves on the long sleeved tops properly long?

And are the leggings long?

I'm 5'10" and I don't like having cold ankles and wrists!

The sleeves are longish, not annoying 3/4 length but on me they're probably to the wrist bone. I love heat tech and buy a couple of the long sleeved tops every year. They are really cosy.

Not had the leggings.

MooMinCow · 06/10/2010 18:14

they are fab - great for layering up without looking too underwear-y if that makes sense

dexter73 · 06/10/2010 19:21

I am 5@7" and the leggings are just about long enough on me so I imagine they will be a bit short on you. They are lovely and soft but quite thin.
I also have the long sleeved tops and find they are quite long in the sleeve.
I am a size 12 and have got medium in the tops and the leggings.

jamaisjedors · 06/10/2010 21:23

What size are you?

I have a white and a black in small (I think).

I wore them last winter but I need to wear natural fibres next to my skin because of my eczema.

I have them set aside to give away.

A pity because I thought they were the solution to being warm in winter without wool (also can't wear).

orienteerer · 06/10/2010 21:27

I couldn't wear the long sleeve version as I found the sleeves uncomfortably tight (5'8" size 14). I love my short sleeve onesGrin.

Havingkittens · 06/10/2010 21:41

Also if you wear the leggings with a skirt or dress you will end up hoiking them up all day long unless you go for the superhero pants over the top look!

Despite that I do really like them. I also find the long sleeved tops great for wearing underneath my favorite t-shirts in winter.

dexter73 · 06/10/2010 21:44

I haven't had that problem with leggings - no hoiking here!

sfxmum · 06/10/2010 21:47

not had leggings but have a variety of tops good for layers keep you warm and dry quick if you sweat
I can't do bulky tops, too top heavy so they are perfect to keep me warm

aquavit · 07/10/2010 09:34

ooh thanks all. I'm a 16 across my shoulders so I think the sleeves may be a bit tight on me as they don't seem to do an XL in the tops, may give the vests a go instead.

arf at pants over the top of leggings

we've no uniqlo here (I think it might be what I miss most about living in The Smoke), so I was thrilled to find that primark are now doing heattech type thermals. DH got some for cycling and really rates them.

aquavit · 07/10/2010 09:47

oh bugger, I have just ordered some of the uniqlo ones!

thanks though flora
