Please help me in my impossible size 9 boots quest

I'm looking for some knee high boots, probably black but wonder if I am seeking the impossible?

My requirements are:

• mainly to wear at work (so must be smartish though the dress code is smart casual most people are smarter than that)

• I walk to work via school so they need to be practical (low or no heel most likely) and weatherproof

• and I am a size 9 (Eur 43).

• preferably I'd prefer a high street shop but will consider buying over the internet

Brantano normally come up trumps for me, but they had only 1 pair of 9s in stock with an impossibly high heel. A further search in other local shops comes up with nothing.

Any help (or just to tell me that what I want really doesn't exist) gratefully received.

I'm a 43 too, Next do all their shoes up to a 43, these are quite nice

I don't believe New Look do a 43. Their size 9 is a 42, as is Office's.

NB this really annoys me as many places think an 8 is a 41. I'm a 42.

tell me about it mippy, that's kind of why I prefer to use European sizing.

Brantano is hit and miss, can you get to London, there are a number of shops in Chiltern Street, near to Long Tall Sally, who also do big boots.

By the way, I'd LOVE to be a 9, I am a 9.5 and NOTHING fits properly EVER.
