Are there any lovely petite clothes anywhere???

I find what's on offer so twee and not what I'm after. Phaps I'm too fussy but:

Precis - too grannified, plasticky and tacky for my taste
Top Shop - too young and skinny (tho' I like some other Top Shop stuff).
Next - foul, the worst of the worst this horrible shop has to offer.

My ideal for every day clothes would be Comptoir des Cotonniers, Gap, Whistles with clothes for people my height (I'm not miniscule - 5ft 3).

And why don't Boden do petite? Even b*** Monsoon doesn't do it.

Am willing to be persuaded there are some nice petite clothes if someone could point me in their direction.

Snap- agree with everything you say -5 ft3 size 6.
To be able to walk into adult 'quality' shops ie Jigsaw and find shoulders on coats and jackets that don't make you resemble an American footballer etc.Although credit where it's due -Boden's size 6 coats, jackets and tops have been v neat and petitelike, well done Johnnie.
I could go on but I,ve got to dash off for ANOTHER visit to the Tailors...

I am 5ft and size 8 - 10 and totally agree. Finding well fittinf clothes is much more of a challenge.
I know you say you hate Next but I have had some decent fitting jeans from there this season. I suggest you look online as the best stuff seems to be there and not in the shops.
I have bought some nice basic tops in GAP and find the XS or S fit well.
The other revelation for me this year has been Warehouse. Got a nice jersey dress and cardigan in there this week and the fit are really good. I would say their stuff suits a petite frame and shorter person.
The worst petite range has to be M&S!! Why do shops think small women are twee and unfashionable?!

I'm 5'1 size 6 and agree that warehouse clothes are pretty true to size and suit petite frame. Bought this - looks far nicer in RL and looks lovely with leggings and boots
got some nice leggings from miss selfridge petite range
I often struggle with length of tshirts/vests as if I;m wearing jeans I don't like longer length and I end up wonderwebbing them to fit my body length
I tend to wear mahoosive heels with jeans and so can get away with a shorter length at river island
I agree with zulinka's comments about shoulders though, I too have that problem!!

Zara doesn't do petite but their sizings are so wee it'd have to be worth a vist, I'd think.
