Vertbaudet Warning!

I bought some sleepsuits from Vertbaudet from their summer sale in the next size up (trying to be organised for once!) for my son. They are size 12 months and he is 11 months old so I thought they would be too big when I came to put them on this week, however they are much too small! The arms and legs are way too short and the feet too small. I contacted Vertbaudet to complain and was told that because I bought them in July I can't return them. They are unwashed etc and I really think the sizing must be wrong because if anything my son is on the small side. I also thought it was pretty rubbish customer service to not even offer an exchange or credit note so I thought I would spread the word, their clothes aren't exactly cheap after all!

I think that must be because they use french sizing, so the size stated is the maximum size.

It's rubbish they won't change them or give you a refund though. for you

Vertbaudet sizes are tiny. Haven't bought anything for ages but when I did I always had to size up.

If it said 12 months I would presume it meant up to 12 months? Was there a size chart to check the measurements of the size when you bought it?

I have some 3 months sleepsuits that my 8 week old is in now - think the sizing is up to 3 months. To be fair most shops only allow exchanges up to 28 days, I don't think Vertbaudet is particularly at fault here.

If it says 12 months, it's up to 12 months. You could return it, takes an age to get new stuff when returning but they do get to it eventually.

French clothes are small, and 12 mths would be 6-12 in english sizing.

I think like most catalogues there will have been a page with measurements.

Also, the 12mth thing is just a guideline, one 12 mth old is a very different size from another one, can be up to twice the weight for example.

I ordered 2 sleepsuits & 2 jumpers over a month ago, I know they've taken the money out of my account but I havn't seen any sign of my items & theres no info on how long it takes to arrive I sent an email saying they hadn't arrived & how long would it take & was told after I sent it to wait at least 5 days before sending another one as it takes a while to respond because they are busy, so I've tried to email them again but when I tried to log in a message came up saying my account was temporarily unavailable. has anyone else had this trouble?

Jemeraldx - I've had a problem recently having to wait ages for an order to arrive when all of the items were listed as in stock when I placed the order. Took over 2 weeks. Their email customer service is not great but whatever you do don't try to call them - I did 3 times and waited over 30 mins in total before realising that it wasn't a free number . Items arrived eventually - have had to return one asd it's a top for DD (she is age 5, bought age 6 which should have been OK but it was too small - should have known as stuff has been small in the past. Have returned so now waiting for refund to bank account - wonder how long that will take? Interestingly the Happy Price tops I bought in age 6 are a perfect fit and nice and long in the body so their sizing is definitely all over the place.

vertbaudet and la redoute are both really small for sizing (both owned by same company), and yes, the customer service is crap. i placed an order with la redoute in august, nothing had arrived a month later, i phoned, emailed but got no-where, until eventually finding out 6 weeks after placing the order, there had been a problem with payment. no-one told me at the time and now everything i ordered is out of stock.
