School Run Clothing - eh?

I've seen lots of reference to school run coats, school run outfits, school run boots. Eh?

I'm not yet on the school run, but why would you wear a specific type of clothing to take your child to school?

What is school run clothing???

My school run clothing is dog walking clothes in the morning and an attempt at looking human in the afternoon.

It just means everyday clothes. You don't actually need special clothes to put on for the school run!

it is just to describe what sort of clothes you are after - ie easy, non faffy and comfortable - not 'work' clothes or 'night out' clothes

I should add.....using that term is always a great oppertunity for those who want to boast about wearing the same tracksuit bottoms for the last three years and only wearing make up the day they got married and when they conceived their first child.
Any one who does otherwise are of course vain, stupid and have too much time on their hands . Probably neglectful mothers too. Who would put on mascara when you could be teaching phonics?

I stsrted to come on MN regularly when I started my maty leave and was too about the whole school run outfit thing. Now I've been here a while I finally get it! Just as I'm about to go back to work....

Oh - and there's NO WAY I'd do the school run without mascara - pag is just being slovenly
