Are Nora Batty knees par for the course with skinny cords?

I've just taken delivery of these from Kew. They're gorgeous on, a really good fit but when I put boots on and walk a little, they crinkle really badly at the knee and a little up the thigh.

It's not a good look, is it? It's a sin as they're so comfy.

Is this to be expected with cord skinnies and if not, can someone recommend a pair which won't do this. I really want some now!!

Thanks

Oh I'm having a nightmare with this too. I would love to find a pair of skinnies that fit the same all day. My SIL said that if they have lycra in them then not to use fabric softener as they are more likely to stay tight. I haven't been organised enough to try this yet but it might be worth a go. Or else maybe we should go to Next?!?

I'm waiting to see if mine will go baggy as I've bought two pairs from DP. If the khakis do, then the black go back.
Unfortunately I only had them on an hour or so before DD helped me spill tea on them so it's the washing test before the longevity test for me!
I will remember about the fabric softner though thanks DomDis.

My skinny cords from Uniqlo are good (very good in fact) so far - but only 3 wears. No wrinkliness but they definitely have a stretchy component in the fabric which might help it go back?

Millie1 · 30/09/2010 19:18

It's not that these are going baggy on the knee after wear (another hazard!) but they're wrinkling pretty much when I put them on - I guess they're riding up - grrrr. And they're such a good fit on the bum and thighs.

Are you wearing them with knee high boots? Maybe try them with a calf length or looser boot (like a biker style boot?) The ribbing will catch on your boot and then be dragged upwards, maybe?

purplepeony · 30/09/2010 20:35

I was worried about this but having looked around, everyone's wrinkle. My Uniqlo skinny jeans do it. The only ones that don't seem to be my DDs jeggings.

Millie1 · 30/09/2010 22:36

Could be the boots Five - shall try them on again tomorrow and see. If it's the boots, it would give me the chance to put these on my birthday list - I fancy a pull-on, mid-calf pair Wink

Hi Purple - these wrinkle a lot - DD's jeggings sound good!!

Reporting back to say that it's the cords - they wrinkle right up even without boots on. So it's either the fabric or my legs Shock. The search is on for the perfect cord skinnies .....
