They are called bell sleeves. I will have a look....

tethersend · 30/09/2010 15:37

That one is perfect- but out of stock Sad

Knitted one with a subtle bell sleeve at Boden.

Another here from Biba.

Love this one in blue. I know it's short but the model is 5'7". If you're a couple of inches shorter than her then it would be about knee length.

roastedfox · 30/09/2010 15:49

i got this one and its lovely www.warehouse.co.uk/ethereal-ruffle-dress/Dresses/warehouse/fcp-product/301784 they have a few other same sort of style on there

moragbellingham · 30/09/2010 16:05

I could only find the Biba one (which I really like) or this. It's O/S but JL will scout the stores and send out to the customer.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/09/2010 16:07

Shorter sleeves.

tethersend · 30/09/2010 18:59

Thanks for looking everyone- I'm afraid I'm not keen on any though. The sleeves on the biba are ok, but it looks a bit sack like and now I've seen the coast one I want that. Bollocks.

Any further suggestions appreciated...

l.k bennett but not v-neck.

FiveOrangePips · 30/09/2010 20:37

stripes

tethersend · 30/09/2010 21:05

Thanks five- lk bennett one ok but no cuffs on sleeves; and only size six left (which I'm not).

I like the second one, but it is too short.

I fully understand if you want to throw in the towel and call me bad names.

owzat

yes, i really did just try and see how expensive an item i could lure you into buying...

EdgarAllInPink · 30/09/2010 21:16

greatly reduced

but still pricey..

tethersend · 30/09/2010 21:44

Thanks Edgar....Grin at me being able to afford those... but even those aren't right! I want that tight cuff on a balloon sleeve thing.

I need to learn how to use a sewing machine.

Or get knocked up and rob a bank and get the IO one.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/09/2010 21:48

Quite like this one myself actually.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 30/09/2010 21:51

For some reason it only lets me link to the main page, but if you go to 'knitted dresses' there's one on the second row, right hand side, in grey and black.

FiveOrangePips · 30/09/2010 21:52

no cuff

dye this ? or befriend a dress maker!

Maryqueenofchocs · 01/10/2010 08:22

Tethers, I have the LK bennet dress and it looks nothing on the hangar but is a dream of a dress when on - I have it in 2 colours, black and navy and wear them alot.

I tracked mine down instore, and they phoned around some others shops to get the colours in for me - v helpful..Grin

tethersend · 01/10/2010 20:06

Right. Isabella Oliver has 25% off and it's my birthday next week- do you think I could get away with a maternity dress? I mean, my stomach's not exactly washboard after DD... and it's a wrap, so surely I could make it tighter?

What d'ya reckon?

OP posts:
Adair · 01/10/2010 20:18

Oh gawd, it's you again! Wink

I love bell sleeves - am wearing [[http://www.asos.com/Mamalicious/Mamalicious-Tie-Front-Crochet-Detail-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1011785&cid=9003&sh=0&pge=1&pgesize=20&sort=3&clr=Lava this dress (without the belt/tie thing) right now.

What about this, or indeed anything at Tulip and Nettle? Clothes can be a bit sack-like, but all bell sleeves iirc...

PS how did your bag search go? I found a funky black/houndstooth one with blue lining for £1.50 in local charity shop. Result. Grin

Adair · 01/10/2010 20:19

Oops... second link should be

Tulip and Nettle

tethersend · 01/10/2010 20:22

I am still bagless. Am not happy.

It's the cuffs, you see- I want a fitted cuff which billows out in a seventies manner, rather than just a rounded sleeve IYSWIM...

OP posts:
Adair · 01/10/2010 20:29

Ahhh, yes, I see. Tulip and Nettle do BIG sleeves, but I think might be too casual for what you are after... That LK Bennett one is lovely...

Fiveorangepips, I LOVE that red shirt/dress you linked. So cute.

Sorry about the bag search. If it's any consolation, I think my bag search has been going on for about 5 years...

ShadeofViolet · 01/10/2010 20:39

I thought IO were designed so that you could wear them when not PG too - I am sure I read that on this board somewhere.

NorkilyChallenged · 01/10/2010 21:09

Ooh Tethers just replied on the IO sale code thread but I'd be tempted to try it anyway. Though the maternity wrap top I have from there does have a lot of fabric but it's worth a try. Their stuff is nice.

And it's my birthday next week too Grin just looking at IO sale and trying to overcome my superstitions about buying mat clothes at this stage.
