Chanel Vitalumiere AQUA?

Does anyone know anything about this? I am very interested. I know there are loads of vitalumiere fans on MN - I tried out a magazine sample last year and I loved the formula but like many pale-skinned beauties, the lightest shade is too yellowy (& dark in the winter) for me.

I idly googled 'Vitalumiere' & 'pale' and up came this.

'The new foundation is anti-fatigue, anti-dullness, moisturizes for the hottest Chanel looking finish. Using high-resolution plasma screen technology and light reflection technology this is the first Chanel foundation to provide a high water moisturization due to its water molecules and also first zero fat foundation.'

I can't figure out though what shades there will be and whether it will be available in the UK (says Japan in the link). Not finding much on blogs etc - have now decided I must try this if possible. Plasma screen technology! ZERO FAT! Grin

In actual fact I just hope it's as good as the original Vitalumiere and available in a wider range of shades.

roffle at plasma screen technology and zero fat.

I don't actually know anything about it sorry but I do know that there is a lot of high end make-up available in Japan from brands which also sell in the UK (including Chanel) that doesn't become available here.

Would be interested if it did though...

I'd like to try that too.
Next time in near the Chanel counter I'll ask and see if they know anything here.

BadPoet · 29/09/2010 16:15

Oh please do Morag, go and find out! Smile I live rurally & no plans to be anywhere near a Chanel counter for the foreseeable future. Annoyingly I was last Saturday but I hadn't seen it then.

OK, prob Friday as I'm due a bit of shopping/returning of undesirable sack-like dressesWink

I'm sure I saw an ad for 3 different types of Vitalumiere in last month's Red mag. Would one of those be the new jobby?

BadPoet · 29/09/2010 16:55

Bucharest - oh maybe! 3?! Surely one of them must come in fair with a hint of blue tones?

Well, if they don't, (and I am mozzarella white) I can recommend Clarins Instant Smooth in 00 colour- been using it for almost 2 yrs now and I love it. Grin

Oh- and once, I had a Dior one (Diorskin I think) that was too light even for me!

josefa · 29/09/2010 21:32

I live in france and the chanel rep told me about it two weeks ago - she said it would be out at the end of sept/oct time. I presume it will be available in the UK too but you can never be sure! She told me it's for people who like a lighter foundation - that's me!

BadPoet · 30/09/2010 13:42

Thanks Josefa, that's interesting - definitely interested in a lighter foundation too although he original one is light too I think? Fingers crosses for pale shades although if not will definitely check out yr recommendations Bucharest! The Clarins one sounds nice.

Ladies, it's bad news.
Went to JL, Boots and Fenwick Chanel counters today and not one person had even heard of it!

They checked their diaries until the end of the year to see if anything was happening imminently and nothing.
All said to try again in the new year and that sometimes new products don't even make it to the UK.

Havingkittens · 03/10/2010 17:22

The new "Lift Lumiere" foundation is nice although it's a slightly higher coverage than Vitalumiere. The sample I got in a 20 came up much lighter than the 20 in Vitalumiere too, although it's still on the yellow side.

If you are pale and pink toned I think Lancome's new foundation Teint Miracle is lovely and they do a very pale shade - 010 Beige Porcelaine. Dior's Nude foundation is also really gorgeous and comes in some fairly pale shades as well - although I couldn't tell you much about them as I've not tried the super pale ones of the range yet as I'm still using up what I have in my kit. Both of those will give you the lovely natural look that Vitalumiere gives but with a tiny bit more glow. Lancome are very good about giving out samples too. They will give you a (not so) little sample bottle that will last you at least a week!

BadPoet · 03/10/2010 23:22

Morag, thanks so much for checking& reporting back. That's a pity!

Havingkittens, thank you - I am very tempted by the Teint Miracle now. If I give it a go I will let you know Smile

HI gatecrashing to say I have tried a few samples of the teint miracle, it is lovely on the skin. It feels very very light on and gives a mediumish coverage without looking caked or thick. I have had many compliments whilst wearing it, it's time I went to the Lancome counter and bought it for real.
Badpoet, hope you like it. I always wanted the chanel vitalumiere to like me, but it didn't. The Lancome one does not look sparkly on the skin but gives a nice finish, think you will have to try it to see it on. I am a bit oily and it's actually not bad by the end of the day :)

josefa · 04/10/2010 11:45

Hi
I think it's bad news for the UK for now. I just looked on the Chanel French website - the new Aqua is there (and it comes in 6 shades) and has SPF15 too - but it's not on the UK website, which generally means it's not going to happen.
But hey, I wanted the Chanel eyeshadow primer which you can get in the US...but not here in France! Total madness. I'm sure it'll get to the UK next year - it's their new revolutionary foundation and replaces their best selling Teint Innocence.

HowsTheSerenity · 04/10/2010 12:14

Would it work for red skinned people? I use vitalumeire and now that I have lost my summer tan I find the one I have too dark and yellow.
I am heading to Bangkok in December and can hit up the duty free is anyone recommends something else.
