Wet socks. Waterproof boots anyone?

Very annoyed at the state of my socks this morning after school run in Fly Mol boots. My birthday is next week and dh has said he will buy me some waterproof boots. I don't need wellies but I live in the country and it rains more or less every day. I'm looking for knee high black leather boots with a rugged sole for rough terrain, and possibly snow and ice.
Would be very grateful for any ideas.
Do I have to go down the equestrian route?

Don't think it is necessary to go down the equestrian route, imo.

Don't have time to link to anything in particular right now but none of my leather boots leak - and they range from Faith to Toast.

Are your Fly Mols very old? Seems very odd as they aren't exactly cheap boots Hmm

These from Clarks?

Thanks for that link dexter. I wonder if they'd be high enough?
tulpe, my Flys are only a year old. Reading another thread recently, seems they all leak. No-one mentioned that before I bought them though!

I have wet feet after wearing my Fly Mes this morning. I keep meaning to try spraying them with something to waterproof them but keep forgetting.....

Too country??

Ooh, love those littledawley.

It's the seams that leak on the fly ones so spray won't help much sadly...

I'm afraid I have gone equestrian and wear Toggi Calgary boots every day atm. since about 10 months ago.

They are pretty good in terms of waterproofness.
