My Uggs are all smelly and damp!

Have a lovely pair of Uggs. They are the leather biker ones. I was told that you shouldn't wear socks with them. But they seem to become very damp and smelly inside! Now my feet are not rose like by any standards, but is this normal for sheepskin boots? My feet don't seem overly sweaty when I take off the boots, but the boots most definitely feel damp and smelly. Help, what is going wrong?

Are you giving them time to air between wearing? Barefoot is definitely the right way to wear sheepskin.

I have many boots and never wear the same pair two days running so they have time to breathe/air. This is especially important if you go out in the wet and/or wear them for extended periods of time.

My friend had uggs last winter and wore them day in day out for about 7 months and they stunk. My oldest pair are about five years old and do not smell at all.

Also give them a brush and spray with weatherproof stuff occasionally.

You can get a freshener spray from ugg as well which I squirt in mine after wearing and they as happily says, wear something else for a day or two.

I have been giving them time off. thanks for your replies. It's just really blooming annoying! I will try and get hold of that freshener spray Believe.

Can you take the insoles out and put them in the washing machine? I do this every now and again.... or at least take them out every night after you have worn them. I don't wear them every day either, always one day on, one day off. I wore one pair everyday last winter (was pregnant and couldn't get anything else on) and after about 3 weeks I actually washed the whole boot in the bath (filled up with warm water and shampoo, and then rinsed). They survived... but now I have two pairs and alternate them.

Hi Lucy, the inside doesnt come out (as far as I know) so wouldnt be able to wash them. Plus the Kensingtons are leather so not sure if I would wash whole boot in bath either. I have only worn them a handful of times - never twice in a row, and they are still damp and smelly inside! This doesnt happen with my other shoes! (well not unless I have been wearing them nonstop for weeks!!)
