Is lovely and soft, bias cut and falls nicely. I was thinking for work, and biker boots and a chunky jumper for w/e.

I am 5'8", chunky 14, fair and 40 in a few weeks.

Depends completely on the length, I think.

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2010 21:48

It's be just below knee on me.

Hmmm

I dont like the tie belt on it

Without that would be fine, I think it depends what you wear it with, if as you describe thn think it would be OK

LetThemEatCake · 27/09/2010 21:48

I've seen it in RL and think it could look good but lose the tie belt and add a diff one Smile

LetThemEatCake · 27/09/2010 21:48

oh x-post Doll

I'm afraid I think its on the frumpy side. Don;t like the sleevelessness (?)also the pattern is not retro or modern enough. its too safe IYSWIM.

BelligerentGhoul · 27/09/2010 21:54

I think it is, sorry. Probably okay for work but I don't see it working with biker boots at weekends.

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2010 21:56

Cool. Thank you for saving me £75 ladies!

I have seen it in RL this pm. Was going to try in on, but had to leave before DS wiped his nose on the clothes and broke all the china. LA is not the place for an exitable 2 year old!

I may be deluded but I think it is nice as long as it falls nicely. Def change the belt. Def NOT chunky jumper on top. What about tight black polo under it and black tights?

I think it is borderline. I am quite cool for 39, so not risking frumpy and 40!

I don't do polo neck at all.

Fair enough Smile

I was going for 70s retro chic with the polo underneath but must, as I feared, have been deluded.

Zembo · 28/09/2010 06:10

Good decision Bike, I'm 39 too and souldn't describe that dress as 'cool' Smile

Zembo · 28/09/2010 06:10

Wouldn't

PeterTong · 28/09/2010 07:06

its disgusting

higgle · 28/09/2010 16:00

this is a similar sort of dress, but far nicer ( and far too expensive for me - earmarked page for the sales)
Orla Kiely

TwasEverThus · 28/09/2010 16:10

School uniform, imo.

FellatioNelson · 28/09/2010 18:21

I think frumpy sorry. It's the shape I think.

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2010 18:35

Now the Orla Kiely one I like. Fiev times more expensive, but I like. I won;t be buying it though, as is 5 times more expsensive. the LA one was pushing my budget!

It is a fine line between trying to look smart for work, and not looking like my MIL.
