Generous. I am a good size smaller in BR than in real life.

Great, thanks Nancy. I think Gap are generous too, are you the same in Gap and BR?

I don't buy much from Gap but I do also find them generous.

Personally I find Gap way over generous on the hips but sometimes a little tight on the waist - I think it suits pearshapes best.

BR is much more boyish - narrower on the hips and more generous on the waist. Which suits me better.

Hope the ones you order are a good fit.

I'm the same in Gap as Banana Republic and would say they are slightly generous - maybe not quite as much as Marks and Spencer for example - but I'm more likely to size down in them than up if that makes sense.

Generous- I am an 8-10 and bought a cardi in XS at BR.

Yes I think generous, and agree with nancy - I am an apple shape so the waist gets too tight before the bum. I have some BR "carrot" trousers (US size 12, UK size 16, so love looking at the label!) that I've worn and worn.

Just noticed that if you go onto the BR website and sign up with your email address, you get 15% off your order (inc Gap).
