What do you think of this |(second hand) coat?

Am looking for a second hand winter coat, it's not easy. There's not a lot on offer (no ebay here) but I think I like this. It's not got a hood, but hats suit me so that's not such a problem.

What do you think?

Other option are this, but it might be too big and is quite well worn.

Should I just wait and see what else comes up?

I like the first one, it looks funky!

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/09/2010 18:54

Thanks sweetcat. I'm not sure if it's maybe a bit conservative or middle aged or something. I think the second one would probably just end up looking studenty.

I also just found this. Mmm.

Hmm, first one still best choice for me but since we don't know each other my opinion is not worth much Grin plus I am 41 which could make a big difference re the middle aged comment Wink

Hope you like what you end up choosing!

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/09/2010 19:06

lol. 41 isn't middle aged, is it? I meant more 50+. FWIW I'm in my 30's, not some hip young 20something.

I don't like the first one, I love the second and like the third but think you would have to be reasonably tall to wear it, i am five foot two and it would drown me

notyummy · 25/09/2010 19:08

Not too keen on the third tbh. The second one is actually covering some of this seasons 'things' (tweedy/country/camel-ish) therefore you might look completely fasion cutting edge and not middle aged at all!

tethersend · 25/09/2010 19:26

Are you in the Netherlands? There is an ebay!

tethersend · 25/09/2010 19:26

Here

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/09/2010 19:34

Oh, ebay exists but it's hardly used, 'tis largely repostings of what's on marktplaats.

I take it you think all 3 I linked to are horrendous?

Sorry, I think you could get better... what are your essential requirements?

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/09/2010 20:09

Essential requirements. Um, most importantly not some sort of quilted thing and no furry bits of any sort. Needs to go with everything, darkish but pref not black (but would be fine if it's fabulous). Mid thigh to knee length. Oh, and cheap of course.

I'm short (5'4") and a size 10 but busty.

Fermina, can you not go onto eBay, click on Advanced Search and specify either worldwide or Europe/Uk located items? That should get you quite a bit to choose from!

If you are busty avoid coat 3. You do need a v neck of some kind.

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 26/09/2010 10:28

I could, spritmum, but I've recently lost quite a lot of weight and haven't yet got my eye in idea what for suits me.

I was looking for something within collecting distance so I didn't have to risk my meager budget on something that doesn't suit me / doesn't fit properly and can't be returned.
